Democrats are insulting the public with dire claims of deaths from Obamacare repeal

There are times when I want to scream at the radio. One commentator or another has just declared that, according to the CBO, 22-million people will lose their health care. In response, the senior Democrat in DC declared that “hundreds of thousands” will die. It's a lie. Fake news. Made-up hoax. Dezinformatsiya. Pick your favorite term.

The very idea that having health insurance is what allows you to have health care is simply wrong. Our first step has to be EMTALA. This alphabet soup statute makes it illegal for any hospital to put "Do you have insurance?" between you and medical care for an emergency. That means that every hospital in the country will fix what's wrong with you. Afterward they may try to get their pound of flesh back, but there are a host of programs, including the American Health Care Act-protected "Pre-existing Conditions" provision that will take care of things. Notice I did not say the "Obamacare" provision.

Now that we've debunked the first big lie, let's consider the purpose of insurance. When Blue Cross was invented by doctors and hospitals, it was a way to make sure that they got paid. If they could convert some charity work into profit, what was not to like? It wasn't about making sure that people could get care. It was about their wallets.

Then, during World War II, insurance became an untaxed fringe benefit to get around wage and price controls. It looked cheap to employees, so why not? But something changed. As doctors and hospitals lost control of insurance companies, the companies figured out ways to entice more people to buy their products. And Obamacare made it the law that lots of people have to buy it.

Also note that left expectancy in the US has gone down since Obamacare was put in place.

The media never seemed interested in such a fact.

It’s not about Democrats. It’s about the media which are nothing but propaganda ministers for the democrats.

Once the GOP gets their act together and decides on a plan they can vote for, they need a marketing campaign to contrast it with Obamacare.

1-an insurance card is NOT a doctor!
2-death panels are REAL, they use them to manage cost and reduce Social Security liability.
3-socialized medicine has NO INCENTIVE to provide timely, effective healthcare.
4-only competition drives quality and efficiency.

I get so angry when I hear (about 20-30 times a day) those Soros-paid-for lying ads! They are all over the TV in Arizona. ‘Tell Senator Flake to vote against’ everything that is being put forward. ‘I would have been stage IV breast cancer, if I didn’t have Planned Parenthood close by’. Sadly, I believe that the low info voters buy into all the lies the Dems spew. We should really focus on our education system. Give back to the States the responsibility of education and be sure to teach CRITICAL THINKING. Our population has been so dumbed down that there are too many who would rather live off other taxpayers than work. The Left is so entrenched in the national education system that the sheeple are being indoctrinated into Leftism and will always vote that way. Too many people believe that everything the Left claims is a RIGHT, actually is a right, as outlined in our laws. But with all those new RIGHTS, never comes the responsibility for anything. We must defeat the Socialists and get our country back on the right track!

Life expectancy has gone down.
A lot of that probably has to do with ovedosing by opiates or other synthetic illegal drugs.

And none of the people falsely claiming that ending Obamacare will result in deaths are equally outraged that many health insurance plans under Obamacare do not provide any out of network benefits. For many people there are no specialty hospitals "in-network" so they don't have any health insurance at all for the hospitals they will need if they are really sick.

As an example, many NH Obamacare plans do not cover hospitals in Boston. So if you crash your motorcycle and are airlifted to Mass General, you don't have insurance. If your kid is really sick and needs to go to Children's Hospital in Boston, you don't have insurance. If you have cancer, and need advanced treatment, you don't have insurance at Dana Farber. If your wife has a high risk pregnancy, or your baby needs advanced care, well, you are out of luck.

Somehow the liberal Democrats have been silent on that issue, because they don't want everyone to have access to the elite medical institutions. They'd rather keep them for themselves.

I know someone who pays $600 a month for premiums, and has a $12,000 deductible. THAT is just not sustainable for long term if they have an emergency. Americans, the ones that work, are becoming impoverished by the taxes and the so-called called healthcare.

If a person would have to be off work for an illness they would lose everything. Sure route to debtor’s prison.

And the Dems will get to continue to insult Americans with this and other lies thanks to obstructionists such as Rand Paul.

Rand Paul thinks he is going to run for and win the Presidency in 2020. I say he may not retain his own seat. It is not true that the current repeal and replace has to be everything you want - the perfect utopian solution forever - and cannot be improved and tweeked later. In fact, it repeals a lot of what was Obamacare, saves huge amuunts of money, provides a good stepping stone away from government run healthcare while providing reasonable cheap coverage, and can pass so we can move onto tax cuts if only Rand Paul and two other “conservatives” vote yes.

Instead Rand Paul is obstructing the entire Trump momentum. If Rand Paul sinks this thing, we will NOT get the tax cuts, the DOW will drop 2,000 points, the phony liberal media will blame Trump for a “bad economy”, the Dems will regain the Senate and many seats in the House, their attacks and the attacks by the phony media will worsen as if they are not already outrageous, and we will end up with single payer healthcare which was the real goal of the Democrats, and America is in big time trouble.

Rand Paul needs to get his head out of his rear end and get to yes on this. If not, I will blame him for all that follows. I will never forgive him, anyway he will lose his seat and I will have sort of a “told you so” moment.

Obamacare will end. Either by this bill and all subsequent changes that will come as the Trump momentum expands with a booming economy, or we end up with single payer and the economy is destroyed and no tax cuts and the Trump momentum is lost as well as losing the Republican majority.

Rand Paul is the problem not the hero.

What does PP have to do with Breast Cancer, they don’t do MAMOS? Or other health screenings, their sole purpose is INFANTICIDE.

There are now Women’s Centers who run those.

Running ads in TN on GOP PLAN WILL KILL THOUSANDS...they don’t want the fact that DUMBOCARE KILLED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS Many because they could not afford premiums and were over the $$ limit, even $1, and you are denied.

Your first sentence is my point exactly. But the left so owns the narrative, the low info voters will believe whatever the lying Leftist ads tell them. And there are ads here with an ‘advisor’ telling two Seniors that their health care costs will rise exponentially. How sad that ads aren’t required to tell the TRUTH! (Especially the ones about Healthcare and Globull Warming)

I used to have a Preferred Provider Plan, which is what you are talking about. You went to in network doctors and hospitals but if it was an emergency they paid out of network. If Obamacare is not like that that’s totally stupid. I just figured it paid out of network for emergencies like regular PPP’s do.

A $12k deductible sounds like it’s for 2 people. $6k each. If that’s the case $600 in premiums is cheap. When I ran Hubby and I through CoveredCa our premiums would be almost $1400 per month with a $12k deductible.
We had private insurance I was just curious on what the Obamacare price was for us.

It is for two people. How do people live? We are blessed, we are health and have good insurance which we seldom use...for now. If we were to get ill at all we would have no net, though. Missing work not an option.

Then they are being subsidized. We were already paying over $1300 per month for insurance but we had small deductibles. Private insurance costs are running neck to neck with Obamacare.

Well if many of you would not have have set the 2006 midterm election out because you all wanted to teach the GOP a lesson, the rats would not have come into power.
