Huh. In the movies, the cops just taste the powder and know instantly that it is cocaine. I’ve probably tasted gypsum, but never cocaine.

At least 5 city parasites need to lose their jobs. At least 5, maybe more.

He has legitimate grounds for suing.

And the big joke here is that there are absolutely no standards for K-9's. They alert falsely all the time, and nobody even cares that people are jailed on the basis of these false positives. Isn't it great to have one's freedom dependent on the whims of an animal?

Had some friends back in the day who gave a “Barney Fife” type cop a pill they said they got from a drug dealer. The cop sent it off for testing. It was a birth control pill.

Do you think so? Not a lawyer, but police have broad immunity, and the field test was positive. And, he was already on probation. Probation involves a loss of many civil rights.

OTOH he might have a strong case against the maker of the field test...

90 days in jail for most of us would be the loss of our jobs, our cars repossessed, our savings accounts drained, our credit would be ruined and, there's a good chance our homes would be foreclosed on. That's if we owned one. If we were renters, we'd be evicted and all of our belongings sold off or thrown in the trash. It would be devastating.

I’ve read that the dogs are trained to do a false signal when their trainers want them to.

I used to sail a lot on in the Chesapeake Bay and knew someone that pissed off the Coast Guard during one of their 'safety' checks.

The scraped his chart table in the cabin and discovered an 'unknown white powder'. Impounded the boat, arrested the crew, and filed Federal charges.

Turns out it was salt from the spray on the deck. Still cost him a lot of money for the lawyer and to get the boat back.

I warned them about problems with using "Old Diabetes" as their canine unit. He'll alert on anything edible and the only time he found drugs was a bag of pot brownies.

I got pulled over near Springfield Ill on the interstate right by the power plant there. The police had a set up in the median and when the traffic came around the corner a semi I was alongside of hit the panic and moved into my lane. I moved over to avoid him and the dam cop nailed me for not signaling my intentions.

So, he asked if he could run the K9 around my truck-I had a BRAND NEW 03 dodge dually and I was pulling my fifth wheel camper up north for work. I told him that it was fine to let the dog go around. The dog jumped on my truck and scratched the livin hell out of the paint.

We had a scene after that as I looked at my brand new effed up paint job. Of course he was warning me and all that. Did no good. I hired a lawyer after I filled a complaint and the Ill State Patrol paid for a brand new paint job on that part of that truck. They also paid for my legal fees.

In court, I had the lawyer ask why they thought I would be carrying drugs in the truck when I had a camper trailer hooked and they never bothered to check it out. They admitted to a sting operation and singled me out because I avoided a serious crash as a result of their stupid activities. I had got the name of the trucking company and they supplied my lawyer with documentation of the incident. If I had not moved over to avoid that truck crossing into my lane, all hell would have broken out. That was the excuse they needed to pull me over....failure to signal intentions.

I havent been through or near Ill since. They can you know what.

Oh ya...the cop wanted me to admit to carrying illegal drugs. He was telling me it was OK if I admitted to a little bit because they were not after small amounts. I told him to F^&k off and got his badge number and noted the time and date and all that and turned it over to the lawyer...who had a gay old time with them bastards in court

There’s a big scandal with these field tests...like 80% false positives with a popular one. Just like they can signal dogs to alert, police get their way.

George H W Bush made a campaign stop at my college during the run up to Reagan’s second term. I rode past the venue a couple times on my bike.

The second or third time past, I had to stop behind a cordon, waiting for Bush to leave. There was a cop and K-9 next to where I stopped. For a minute or so we all stood there. Then I notice some movement by the cop and the dog then went ape shit barking and snarling at me.

With its lead, the cop let it get a couple feet away. I don’t know what command the cop gave it but it was obvious the dog was trained to do that on command.

The cop stopped the dog after a few minutes and another command. Then the cop started quizzing me about having seen me ride by earlier and asking me why I was there, name, etc. Being a real jerk.

No question that cops can make those dogs do anything they want.

Note to self: whenever I need drywall mud, pay extra for the premixed compound. Also, never drive at night with no headlights.
