It's summer 2017 and the Arctic was supposed to be ice-free, hurricanes were going to be more frequent and more deadly, and sea levels should be rising alarmingly. Al Gore swore in his 2006 science fiction movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," that within a decade there would be a "true planetary emergency."
"Unless we act boldly and quickly to deal with the underlying causes of global warming, our world will undergo a string of terrible catastrophes," said Gore in the movie's introduction.
The grand storyteller also predicted in 2011 that "there will be no more snows" on Mt. Kilimanjaro "within the decade."
Four years earlier, the Guardian of Britain reported that the United Nations was warning that we had "as little as eight years left to avoid a dangerous global average rise of 2C or more." Three years and more than 1,000 days ago, then French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius — a socialist, of course — advised us that "we have 500 days to avoid climate chaos."
We could go on. But we have neither the space nor time to rack up all the missed global warming predictions. So we will merely point out that instead of these disasters, we have the climate alarmist community admitting that there has indeed been a pause in the warming and that its models failed to predict it.
Yes, that's right. The alarmists are acknowledging in the abstract of a research paper that was published this month in Nature Geoscience that there have been "differences in model and satellite tropospheric warming rates."
On some level the admission is shocking. Yet we've long known that at some point the confession had to be made. The alarmists couldn't carry on the charade forever.

The paper by Santer, a Warmist extraordinaire is slight backpedding, an attempt to save what’s left of his “science”.
It was a HUGE money maker while it lasted.

Using true scientific analysis the CO2 driven global warming theory would have been abandoned years ago as the observed data never matched the theoretical models. However, man caused global warming morphed into a politically convenient dogma that could be used to drive an agenda to smash capitalism and promote socialism and world government. All science was abandoned and the idea became almost a religious dogma complete with an Inquisition to enforce orthodoxy... denier is just another name for heretic. Now the scientific data has become so overwhelming and the ludicrous predictions by the global warming cultists proved time and again so wrong that the dogma is falling apart.
The other day on Fox News, I can’t remember who, either Gutfield or Cavuto, it was said that giving money to the Paris Treaty is like a reverse lottery ticket, where you spend thousands of dollars for the chance to win a nickel, that even if everything works out the way the Paris Treaty wants, and every nation does their assigned part, the Treaty will knock off .05 degrees from the global temperature in 20 years.
So we wreck the global economy to lower the temperature by 0.05 degrees.
What a deal!

This is thus the problem with the global warming scam- it requires you to make immediate predictions. If you predict stuff too far ahead in the future, no one will care enough, so 10 years out seems to be the sweet spot for climate hysteria. Unfortunately, 10 years comes and goes fairly quickly and your scam is gradually exposed... Ted Danson’s 10 year ocean catastrophe has come and gone. Al Gore’s polar bear extinction has come and gone. If only we can make Al Gore’s “Earth In The Balance” required reading for the snow flakes!
But will the temperature really drop?
RIght now we have about 409 parts per million (PPM) of CO2. So the theory is that the more CO2 the warmer the planet gets. Well, when we had the Ice Age we had 4,000 PPMs, nearly 10 times what we have today. I like to tell liberal friends: "Perhaps there's more to the story than CO2." They never reply.
