Sunday on ABCs This Week, while discussing the Republican health care bill, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he would vote for a partial repeal of Obamacare, but the current bill was not anywhere close to repeal.
Paul said, Ive been telling leadership for months now that I will vote for a repeal and it doesnt have to be a 100 percent repeal. For example, Im for 100 percent repeal, thats what I want, but if you offer me a 90 percent repeal, Id probably vote for it. I might vote for 80 percent repeal.

Yeah. You can’t really repeal Obamacare any more than you can repeal a bomb blast. It already destroyed the markets, as you indicated.
I will say this though: it’s a good thing that insurance is getting decoupled from your employer. Of course, instead of Hussein passing your employer’s the tax break onto the employee so insurance would become more portable, he eliminated the tax break altogether so that he could give the money to his derelict voters.
I hope the bill passes because it eliminates a lot of Husseincare and its failure to pass effectively halts the president’s agenda. This is essentially a prerequisite for tax reform and halting is on those things will emboldened the left even further to stop wall funding.
Also, unlike the left with Husseincare, we wouldn’t be emotionally attached to the law and reflexively opposed to any major changes later on. “Strengthening Obamacare” to them means more bailouts, welfare or moving to single payer. For us, there’s a multitude of market-based ad-ons that can be passed individually later.
That of course was also a result of government regulation in WWII. There were strict wage controls and a shortage of labor, so employers started providing healthcare as an incentive to work there. After the war it just continued.
Exactly.
Who ran on repeal alone?
Not Trump
Not any Rep or Senator that I know of (someone correct me if I’m wrong).
It’s been repeal and REPLACE for over 2 years now but replace with what is the problem. They never promised to replace it with nothing, so they have to come up with something. Painted themselves into a corner.
He did
The best plan would be to get the goobermint out of healthcare altogether and let the market make things cheaper, more efficient and better quality. Miraculous thing, that free market.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I like it, but this will take some Dem support, has RP got anyone lined up?
Agreed, Trump did make some promises that have to be in the new law.
It rather naive to ask that question incredulously.
There are obvious problems with "repeal only Obamacare", such as the fact that it would inevitably result in certain people losing their policies, and nobody is going to vote for that with a President who might sign it.
Whatever other reasons there may be, that one is more than sufficient politically to preclude a "repeal only" of Obamacare...
QUIT ENABLING
Let RepublicanCare FAIL to pass.
Healthcare cost/prices skyrocket.
Insurance companies abandon.
Liberal voters feel REAL PAIN.
Then REPEAL is easy!
You are full of BS.
He has to get the Senate GOP support first.
All they really need to do is call it the first step with other steps to come as it becomes evident how things are going, and get together and make it happen. it's the "all or nothing" folks that will kill us with their "principles" and total lack of connection to reality.
