Afghanistan: Just walk away

Our involvement in Afghanistan is untenable because the country is untenable. No matter what is done, Afghanistan will fail because of its galloping population growth.

When the U.S. became involved in 2001, the country had a population of 20.5 million. Now it is 34.4 million, up nearly 70 percent. In the intervening 16 years, the U.S. spent about one trillion dollars and 2,000 lives in stabilizing Afghanistan. All the stability and free food provided just created a perfect breeding environment for the natives.

The population growth rate has settled at 3.0 percent per annum. At that rate, in another 16 years, there will be 55.2 million Afghans, most of whom will need imported grain to keep body and soul together. The Afghani proclivity to breed will only be curbed by starvation. That will happen at some stage because, even if we wanted to underwrite that population expansion, getting the necessary quantity of food into the country will become more and more difficult. Perhaps that situation is beginning now. The U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization has reported that 8.4 million Afghans are in an acute food insecurity crisis.

You leave. And you advise both the Taiban and the fake allies that run Kabul that if Aghanistan exports terrorism that its leadership will be under constant risk of being decapitated by air strikes. Play in your own neanderthal sandbox and stay out of the civilized word. if there are any remaining Christians left in Afghanistan offer them asylum, and impose an absolute ban on any future immigration from that hell hole.

Save all that labor.

A few neutron bombs with a few low yield nuclear devices mixed in.

That should have been fast tracked by the evening of 9-11 going into the next day.

Hard to believe. Looked like a nice place to maybe visit then.

The big turn off would be the Soviet Union being around.

There are only two ways to limit population growth. Genocide or prosperity. Starvation and disease actually drive birth rate higher.

Societies which are incapable of fostering prosperity quickly become hellholes. There are no easy answers until the people become capable of demanding a government that can support economic stability.

Get out of that third-world craphole. But leave drones to loiter in their skies and napalm any and all poppy fields.

We’re not over there babysitting them and trying to change their culture 75 years later either. Also, there were not the same numbers that we area talking about in Afghanistan ... and in Iraq/Syria ... and in every other place in the Islamic world.

How else are we to get valuable assets like Boston bomber brothers Tamerlan and Dzokhar Tsarnaev?
Actually the family came here on tourist visas, then wheedled political asylum.

“Societies which are incapable of fostering prosperity quickly become hellholes.”

Very true: and these tend to be societies that have an average IQ of about 85. We aren’t going to change them, have no means to change them, no obligation to do so, and probably have no right to try. Their society needs to stay over there.

sorry i disagree.

walking away was what grew Osama bin Laden.

A Bush mistake.

The solution may not be constant presence, but we cannot and should not disengage.

In Germany and Japan the occupation focused on wiping out National Socialism and Shintoism.

In Afghanistan and Iraq, Islam was exalted and strengthened, and put into the new constitutions.

We are still in Germany but we are not there building roads and bridges and schools and water systems ... and trying to convince them not to marry 8 year old girls and do honor killings of rape victims ... etc.

No matter what is done, Afghanistan will fail because of its galloping population growth 100% Muslim population which makes it a total sh!t hole.

We do need to leave, but leave with honor, not with dishonor.

These pukes here calling for killing them all, destroying their crops, poisoning their water etc are as bad as the Talban.
