Ann Coulter: GOP Health Care Bill a ‘Total Disaster,’ ‘Obamacare Lite’
Breitbart.com ^ | 23 June 2017 | Pam Key

Posted on 06/23/2017 9:09:12 PM PDT by Rockitz

Friday on Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company,” conservative columnist Ann Coulter said the Senate Republicans’ health care bill was a “total disaster” because it is “Obamacare-lite.”

Coulter called for a “one-sentence law saying there shall be a free market in health insurance.”

“[U]nder the Republicans’ health care bill, guess who’s still paying for transgender operations? Guess who still can’t go to Memorial Sloan Kettering? Guess who will still be paying 700 dollars a month for heath insurance?

...

“This is going to ruin Republicans if this passes because it’s Obamacare lite,” she added.”Now Republican will get blamed for it. Let it fall. I would rather have nothing than have Republicans take responsibility for something that is just as bad as Obamacare except all your taxes get cut.”

Sadly, it is the simplicity that keeps it from ever being proposed. Nevermind passed.

It’s the same problem we have with the IRS and the Tax code.

There are billions of dollars made by keeping and making these things complex.

If that were true at all, Hillary would be in the white house and would have just gotten a new Democrat in office down in Georgia.

Absolutely it is an option.
Only hard core socialists oppose that option.

“Full repeal or else single-payer.”

You actually want single payer if ACA is not repealed?

You get it back incrementally. Baby steps, frog in the water.
The Senate needs to pass this bill, then build on it. We’re not going to get it all at once.

_______________________________________

With all due respect, NO way! What makes you think this group of GOPe will peel anything back incrementally? They are not about cutting costs or reducing government control. THey like spending money and having control...they like it a lot.

They ALL voted 18 months ago on a REPEAL bill. They have done this repeal vote for SIX years, yet they cannot do that now? Now we are supposed to build on it? Not now...Now that they have majorities in House, the Senate and they have the Presidency??? Why would they not send that same bill to Trump to sign? Because they WANT government controlled healthcare. All the repeals were for show...and they had 6 years to develop something...but they had nothing prepared!

Did you know that McConnell showed the bill to lobbyists prior to the rest of the senate?!? How is that MAGA???

This bill is Obamacare light— so why would you want to build on it?...Baby steps—I bet you pie it won’t happen.

They are not reducing or repealing — they actually expand medicaid for 8 years...then the cut...Who is to say they will be able to do a cut in 8 years...

The GOP is going to own this bad boy—better to not pass it at all than be shackled with a new bill that some say is even worse than Obamacare.

Anne is right. So is Levin. On his Thurs show, he had on David Horowitz discussing the bill...very informative. I recommend listening to the program—you may change your mind about passing this Obamacare light.

Not sure it lowers premiums...

https://nypost.com/2017/06/21/gop-senators-to-unveil-health-care-bill-thursday-report/

“Senate conservatives seemed wary of the emerging bill.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a member of a core group of 13 Republicans who have been working on the legislation, told reporters the bill did not yet do enough to lower health insurance premiums.

“If it is going to pass, the bill is going to have to make meaningful steps to reduce premiums,” he said.”

Not sure it should pass—some are saying it is Obamacare light! If a bad bill and it passes, Republicans will be blamed forever for it...

Mightn’t it be better to pass nothing than a bad bill?

Ann is right!

Yes. Full repeal, and weather the criticism. (Because Dems criticize anything Republicans do, so do what's best for conservatives and the voters who put Trump in the White House.)

All you have to do when you're in a death-spiral is climb. But by definition: you can't climb because you are in a death spiral.

Eject!

I’m among the minority that got hit the hardest by Obamacare/CrapCare. And who am I? One of the millions of self-employed that had our decent, pre-Obamacare policies summarily terminated. And we’ve been counted as the millions of Obamacare beneficiaries. Imagine that.

Sounds like Coulter is also among the minority.

FWIW, our family lost our doctors, pediatricians, preferred hospital, nearby 24/7 clinics. And our rates were jacked by 70%. Raise your hand if you’ve personally experienced this nightmare.

“single payer” is the unnatural end state, and the communist objective of the whole intervention all along.

As Susan Colling (R-ME) said, she won't vote for a bill that "takes away health care" for "millions."

We were all correct back in 2009 when we said that once the Freebies and the Gravy Train of "subsidies" started rolling for more Takers, Congress would be too cowardly to ever turn off the spigot of "free" money.

Repubs can’t seem to get it right. Do they even listen to those who vote for them?

Premiums will never be lower unless costs are lower. That is why they were always increasing before anybody even heard the name Obama. Insurance companies aren’t in business to lose money.

Ann is right. This bill needs to be killed.

Would not surprise if Schumer and McConnell agreed to “we screwed it up once, it’s your turn to screw it up a second time, and let’s work together to fix it a third time”.
