The Senate Judiciary Committee has opened a probe into former Attorney General Loretta Lynchs efforts to shape the FBIs investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the committees chairman announced Friday.

I hope this is only the beginning.
Lynch has no immunity from an obstruction charge.
Maybe this time we can get at least one pair of cankles behind bars
Why investigate? Using the democrat standard of evidence, we have all we need to convict her and send her away for life. What standard? We believe she’s hopelessly corrupt; that should work.
As always, it’ll be nothing but a dog and pony show. Until I see a slew of orange jumpsuits, I don’t give a rat’s ass.
Not per se, no. No more than Bill Clinton did for lying to investigators. But my point, and I believe I said this, is that a prosecutor is not "obstructing justice" when they decline to prosecute a case. If Lynch tells Comey, the cop, that she is not going to prosecute the case, she is not obstructing justice. She is exercising (improperly, sure) prosecutorial discretion. The prosecutor has that power.
Similar to Trump having pardon power vs. federal crimes. He can pardon a person, and that is not obstruction of justice. He can order an investigation to stop (even improperly) and that is not obstruction of justice in a clinical/legal sense.
Lynch can decline to prosecute anything, and that is within her power. The remedy for abuse of that power is removal from office, call it for dereliction or something.
“is that a prosecutor is not “obstructing justice” when they decline to prosecute a case.”
She didn’t Decline to prosecute a case. There is an e-mail where she tells Clinton’s team she will not allow the case to go anywhere. That’s obstruction of Justice.
Hitting back...
SO much fun, ain’t it?!?!!!
Forgot what it felt like over the last eight-year nightmare.
Oh, wow!! Another Senate investigation to spread out until election time 2018. Then “Who? US? Drop it.”
She’ll take the fifth, the pubbie eunuchs will give us a “curses, foiled again” and that will be that. I’ve seen this movie before. I can’t think of an individual that has disappointed me more than Sessions has. Hell we might as well have had one of the Bush boys running DOJ.
That reminds me of the time a Vegas brothel was foreclosed by the IRS. The gubmint now “owned” a staff of, er, ah, ummm, ladies. El Rushbo quipped that it was unsure whether the ladies required pelvic exams; but Ted Kennedy was “looking into it.” Picture THAT, if you can stomach it.
I thought it was one of the houses of ill repute outside Reno. Maybe the Bunny Ranch. Guess the IRS wanted to give them a chance to get ahead. Or something. ;-)
I think you’re right. Reno. Bunny Ranch. Anyhow, Rush quipped that Teddy was “looking into” pelvic exams.
It appears that she did more than refuse to prosecute. She wouldn’t even announce that. Interfering with an ongoing investigation is not refusal to indict but obstruction.
Bump!
What ever happened to the officer who was standing there listening to the conversation between Lynch and Clinton on the tarmac?
Means nothing if Hillary is allowed to go scot-free.
Hahaha. I’d rather see an indictment from the DOJ rather than an “investigation” by these kabuki artists. What a pathetic joke.
