GOP senators unveil ObamaCare overhaul

The 142-page draft of the bill, which also prohibits states from opting out of key protections for patients with preexisting conditions, eliminates much of former President Obama’s signature health care legislation.

The measure would repeal tax increases Obama's law imposed on higher-income people and medical industry companies to pay for expanded coverage. And it would end the tax penalty Obama's statute imposes on people who don't buy insurance -- in effect, ending the so-called individual mandate.

Well, I guess it’s an improvement but it still has the federal government in the middle of health care. Also, it seems like they’re asking the Democrats and the media (I know, redundant.) for permission to pass it.

Guys & gals. There are no to limited insurance in many, many states now due to Ocare. It is simply not a political reality to think you’ll just repeal Ocare and NOT have some provision to replace what was left by Ocare void.

It’s going to take several bills, incrementally moving in the right direction. I know people here don’t like that, but it’s the reality in DC, especially with McTurds, Collins, Graham, etc. Trump’s ability to strong-arm the senate is limited here.

They can’t. YET. All sorts of tenacles in various areas. The same thing that Roberts saw to declare it a tax keeps them from an outright repeal. That is why this is step 1. Follow up will get rid of the final residue and add the necessary needed repairs.
Still looking for the bill to see exactly what’s in it. — how far they were able to go. Right now Everyone is moving their mouth without reading firat.

The provision for getting rid of ObamaCAre period is people purchase their own Insurance from the Insurance Companies.....I don’t see what the problem is in doing that.

Absolutely Sounds like a couple of amendments will also be added to this one.
First get rid of the elements that make the health bill a tax

As with the House bill the employer and individual mandates remain. The penalty rates have been set to zero.

Totally agree. The big bang replacement approach is not going to fix it. Its going to take multiple efforts because the damn thing is so complicated. They will be tweaking healthcare legislation for years to come.

“We’re the Republicans and we can do socialism better than the Democrats.”

They even named it ‘the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017.”

“It’s not a political reality” - Because? Because? Because what? Because Republicans DON’T WANT TO.

So? — I simply don't care, I want it gone. — I neither want, nor welcome, the federal government in healthcare, insurance, marriage, intrastate commerce, nor a whole host of other issues that according to Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution the federal government has no legitimate legislative business.

It’s going to take several bills, incrementally moving in the right direction. I know people here don’t like that, but it’s the reality in DC, especially with McTurds, Collins, Graham, etc. Trump’s ability to strong-arm the senate is limited here.

Ridiculous!
Just look at this bill.

Whatever the lobbyists want from Ryan and McConnell, they’ll get. In return, lots of campaign “loot”.

Exactly! How often have we heard some excuse? We don't have the House Senate Whitehouse
How about we be honest: will — it's the will to stand up and vote to repeal the thing that they lack.
