One America News Network CEO Robert Herring says he has retracted a lucrative job offer to Bill O’Reilly that could have paid the former Fox News star more than $25 million a year.

In a tweet Tuesday, Herring wrote: “We are pulling offer to @billoreilly, it could have paid him more than he made at Fox. We wish him luck. #OANN.

I think OANN should hang out a little longer and see if he'll take the job.

Well, that leaves like only two hundred million people ahead of me for the job.

I’m moving on up!

Bill O’Reilly has been on television for decades. Time to pass the baton to a younger generation of talent, and enjoy his retirement.

Good, now he cannot contaminate OAN with his “it’s all about me” attitude.

Good move on their part. Rather public, but likely necessary. Haven’t been following O’Reilly and happy to see him out to pasture. Bye Bye.

He’s looking for a platform to plug his “Killing” books.

...could have paid the former Fox News star more than $25 million a year...thought OAN was a fledging network just getting off the ground - interesting they have that kind of money to throw around - particularly for an old-timer like O'Reilly when they already have their own version at 8 PM - Mr. Ledger who does a pretty good job.....

What’s so great about Bill O’Reilly? Haven’t watched that assclown in years. Love his replacement though

OAN will continue to do well without the ‘spectacular’ celebrities.

First of all, I don’t thing OAN HAS $25 million. They’d have to earn it, and they aren’t even on the big cable systems. Second, at this stage of his career BOR isn’t motivated by money, he’s more interested in having total editorial control and the ability to do things they way he wants to. (He’s a control freak, if you haven’t noticed, and after the way he got screwed over by Fox, doubly so).

Remains to be seen whether OAN becomes a viable network.

I agree 100% Bob. BO’R only has a few more good years left and he has more money than he will ever spend. His priorities are very different than someone in their 40’s who is established but looking at 25-30 more years in the business.

He and MeAgain Kelley clashed on various things like style and substance but a big reason was they both like to be the center of attention and the one calling the shots. With those two in the same room there was bound to be sparks flying. “There can be only one”. The irony of Kelley being in hot water now her new digs and BO’R going solo plus having to re-invent himself is not lost on many as you know. What a difference a year makes. Even just 6 months.

Maybe Bill’s next book will be an autobiography of his career and the various chapters. It wouldn’t be one I’d pay money for but it might make for some interesting reading if enough behind the scenes dirt were included while being careful to not be career ending for anyone.

She was classless enough to crow in public about beating him in the ratings while they were still on the same network. I think, once she stood revealed after the first debate and he subsequently regained the advantage, he let the numbers speak for themselves.
