Ga. Dem. Has Nine Times More Donations From California Than His Home State

on Ossoff, the 30-year-old Democrat candidate for Georgia's special election runoff this coming Tuesday, reported having nine times as many donors from California than from Georgia in the past two months.

Between March 29 and May 31, Ossoff reported 7,218 donations from California and only 808 donations from Georgia, The Mercury News reported. This means he took 8.9 times as many gifts from the Golden State. In the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area alone, Ossoff reported receiving 3,063 donations in the same period, nearly four times his Georgia total.

These are only the donations he is required by law to report, and do not include gifts from people who contributed less than $200 overall.

In terms of the dollar amounts, Ossoff took at least $456,296.03 from California donors, compared to $228,474.44 from supporters in Georgia. The Bay Area alone contributed $220,532.10, less than $8,000 shy of the Georgia total.

Ossoff is running for Georgia's 6th congressional district (which includes northern suburbs of Atlanta), to replace Tom Price, who became President Donald Trump's secretary of Health and Human Services.

Ossoff won a temporary victory on April 18, defeating a crowded field of Republicans. But since he only took 48.1 percent of the vote, just shy of 50 percent plus one, the race went to a runoff this coming Tuesday.

Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel took a distant second place in April, winning 19.8 percent of the vote, despite being outspent by a nearly 20-to-1 margin. After the election, President Donald Trump tweeted, "It is now Hollywood vs. Georgia on June 20th." Unlike Handel, Ossoff does not even live in the district.

GORBACHEV UPDATE

Actually, Gorby is still breathing... he lives in Moscow...he's 86 now and not in the best of health.

His wife Raisa is dead, he never remarried and spends his time with his daughter and his grandchildren.

He cut an album of Russian songs in memory of Raisa, profits went to a cancer charity...he sang some of the songs himself...and the old Commie states he's "evolving" into Christianity.

That’s what the libs do, either move into red areas and ruin them with the same politics that ruined the blue area they fled, or the flood the country with immigrants of the illegal sort and wind up letting them stay and become legal. Look at Virginia. A solid red state up until 2008 and now it will remain blue. Why? Northern VA is a little middle east. The influx was fast and furious.

How does this work when he doesn’t even live in the district he wants to represent?

Yeah, they have more money than brains or class, but they are leftists so what more can we expect.

That’s Federal law, don’t blame us here in GA.

At one of the debates, Karen asked this kid “Who are you going to vote for on election day?”

Of course the only real answer is “No one.”

North Carolina is turning into California as it grows, meaning the look and feel of the place

I can see that, particularly in the Triangle and the Charlotte area. Crime in the Triad is through the roof in the past year or two - mostly gang+drug related.

Rural NC, and the 'burbs? Not so much, not yet anyway. They don't have the ridiculous land management that CA has....at least, not yet.

The state is a lot bluer that it was 20 years ago, though, that's for sure. I'm curious to see what immigration reform does to it over the next 4-8 years. I think you might see a shift back, as illegals go home.

Do you think that 4 years of Trump budget cuts will help to depopulate Dems from Northern VA?

My mother grew up in Sunnyside, a neighborhood in Winston-Salem now regarded as part of a larger area called Waughtown. It’s startling to go there anymore, I wonder if there are any English speakers left. It’s now known as Little Mexico.
