Steve Scalise suffered a physical assault on June 14 as a result of being shot by a liberal Bernie Sanders supporter. However, few know that three years ago Scalise politely endured a verbal assault by enraged Hollywood liberals in the entertainment business. It was an example of the increasing rejection of civil discourse by the left leading ultimately to the recent baseball field violence we saw a few days ago.
A June 16 Hollywood Reporter article by Paul Bond reveals the incident at the Los Angeles home of pollster Frank Luntz who held a soiree in the hopes of bringing together conservative congressmen and members of the entertainment industry. It did not go well as you can see in the article's title, Steve Scalise Once Tried to Woo Hollywood the Results Weren't Pretty.

“I don’t understand! I invited my guests to pet the hungry alligators and they were attacked! Who could have forseen this???”
Also, which is it? Did Paul Luntz invite Hollywood liberals and Congressional Republicans to a soirée into his home where they could “agree to disagree,” knowing liberals can do no such thing? Or did Steve Scalice try to woo Hollywood all by himself and the results weren’t pretty?
Luntz built his Los Angeles home for just these sorts of events. The 14,000-square-foot house includes a replica of the Oval Office and Lincoln Bedroom, and his artifacts include the signatures of every American president. Theres a bowling alley, indoor shooting range and five-wall racquetball court.
Apparently, Luntz is paid very well for holding his focus groups.
Frank, I would be willing to subject myself to liberal abuse as long as I could use that bowling alley for a few hours.
“Actor Richard Dreyfuss was there, as were former writers for Seinfeld, The West Wing and other popular TV shows, and there were several directors and producers who prefer to remain anonymous.”
Asking them about policy makes as much sense as asking them about particle physics.
And I notice Lutz kept their outrageous abuse, and Scalise’ wonderful manners that night a secret all through the election.
As long as the existence of a party that thinks 60 million dead babies is not enough is tolerated, we are on the path to civil war.
