After the Washington Post-New York Times-CNN axis got the public worked into a lather by effectively trying President Donald Trump and his administration in the court of public opinion, Americans are desperate to see somebody held accountable for…wait…what is it again? Collusion? Obstruction? The narrative changes so quickly, we’re having a hard time keeping track.
Enter Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, who told Fox’s Sean Hannity on Friday that the investigators who’ve been hired by Special Counsel Robert Mueller won’t quit until they’ve found their own Scooter Libby-type figure to play the role of political pariah.
“Somebody” will likely go to jail following the FBI’s investigation into Russian election meddling, but said it won’t be President Trump.
“There are too many lawyers who are high powered to go home without a scalp. They’re going to get somebody. I don’t think they’re going to get the president, but they’re going to get somebody, and they’re going to get him for something. And they’re probably going to go to jail,” Gingrich told Fox News’s Sean Hannity.
Investigators smell blood in the water, Gingrich said. And it’s making them desperately hungry for what will likely be a historic bust.
“This is like watching an old-fashioned Western movie. This is an Indian hunting party,” Gingrich said. “They’re out looking for a couple scalps, and they’re not going to go home until they get some.”
The hypocrisy of the investigation into Trump’s inner circle is staggering, as Gingrich rightfully pointed out. Even high-ranking Democrats are now questioning whether one of their own, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, illegally tried to influence the outcome of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information.

That everyone you mention, besides Mueller, should have been in jail a long long time ago, yet Trump is the one in trouble, tests one’s faith in the Republic.
I’m not saying Mueller should or shouldn’t’ have been in jail a long time ago. Dont know him well enough.

Mueller is stacking his witch hunt with Obama and Hillary supporters and donors, along with a woman from the Clinton Foundation.
For those reasons alone, I found him “worthy” for my list.
Trump can still fire them before Monday... or after Monday.. He can... but will he!!!!!!!!! Please, President... please get them off the lying front page! Newt has gone negative... don’t do that, Newt!!!
He’s right that Mueller and the media can’t walk away empty handed even if the scalp is not collusion/working with Russians fake scandal. Somebody in low level ranks in one of these special prosecutor interviews will forget that they got milk on Thursdays and that’ll be good enough to be charge perjury and media/Dems will claim vindication and victory
I suspect the GOPe told President Trump what they would allow him to do and what they would not allow him to do.
If he fires Mueller/Rosenstein, the GOPe will join the Dems to impeach.
You know, come to think of it, this also might be why President Trump hasn’t fired all those Obama holdovers by now. The GOPe might have said the same thing. It’s the only explanation I can think of that would explain his inaction.
DJT is trying to unite and work within the system. He will do so many wonderful things. Nevertheless, the Swamp will NOT be drained peacefully.
Why should a Republican go to jail for exposing Hillary Clinton’s crimes?
I find honesty is the best medicine against the enemy. Trump can say he’s been threatened by the gop if that be the case. I’d lay it all out for the people to see what he is dealing with.
We’d go to bat for him.. we’ve always had his back, and the dems and the gop needs to be seen as they are... Speak it out loud... don’t twitter it.. do it openly.. tell us all what they are threatening Trump with and who it is.
