DHS Secretary John Kelly partially fulfilled one of President Trump's key campaign promises on Thursday night when he rescinded the DAPA amnesty. The illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty issued by former President Barack Obama would have granted an estimated 5 million work permits to illegal aliens who were the parents of U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents. The Administration has yet to take action on the DACA Amnesty, and a DHS report last week showed that the Trump Administration has issued thousands of new work permits to illegal aliens and renewed more than a 100,000 more since taking office. The Department of Homeland Security issued the following statement on Thursday night: On June 15, Department of Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly, after consulting with the Attorney General [Jeff Sessions], signed a memorandum rescinding the November 20, 2014 memorandum that created the program known as Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) because there is no credible path forward [in the courts] to litigate the currently enjoined policy.

Yes, President Trump, please do as promised. End amnesty!!!
May very well be that the workers are needed in the ag industry...since California is absolutely dependent on Mexicans.
That’s Boo Chit.
The Courts ended it, they are merely taking the administrative action in accordance with the ruling...
Ending DAPA is just a formality. The real problem is DACA. And they don’t even have to officially end DACA. It’s a two-year program for the recipients, so just stop taking new applicants, don’t renew anybody, and in 2 years it will be over. Not doing this is a major error of the Trump administration and the breaking of a campaign promise.
that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, bring in a lot of illegals, then say we’re dependent on them, can’t remove them.
Dapa turned to Crapa...
Adios amigos/amigas...
Exceptions can be make for farm labor... but when the crops are picked they GO HOME. AND never made citizens ...
Impossible, I heard from the mainstream media that he was going to allow them to stay.
With DAPA, DACA, Paris Accords, TPP etc., Obama put things in place that would have rendered the United States unrecognizable in the first two years of the Hillary administration.
Trump is letting them stay. Every day more illegals sign up for DACA. It’s a major betrayal of his supporters. With all the trouble Trump is encountering, you’d think he’d be loyal to the folks who got him to the White House.
We don’t need more farm laborers. That’s a con job promoted by cheap labor profiteering agribusiness. In fact, given the ongoing mechanization of agriculture, we’ll be lucky to have enough jobs for people who are already here.
One of the unintended consequences of Mexican 'cheap labor' is once they become citizens they quit 'picking' and move to the bottom of the blue collar ladder. Since they're hard working - they move up the ladder - - taking higher paying jobs from Americans.
So, "no" those 'already here' won't be going back to the fields.
The 'illegals' system was constructed so every few years a whole new group of illegals had to be brought in... horrible incentives.
The Ag industry can exist without cheap foreign labor. Advanced robotic fruit and produce picking machines are now available and there is no real need for them. The cost of growing produce is a small pet of the retail supermarket price. This a no/brainier.
People need to go over to Youtube and look at what kind of mechanized farming is taking place. Boring videos but amazing technology. If you haven went to Youtube to see for yourself then you likely have no clue because it doesn't make the news or TV Drama shows.
Start here then look at how they build railroads and bridges or cut timber.
The illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty issued by former President Barack Obama known as DACA is still operating as if it were law.
It did not become legal when Trump started running it.
+1
That is exactly how it should be handled.
And it will be a broken promise if it is not.
