Kayla Hart dropped by the Starbucks in Charlotte, North Carolina the other day for a cup of coffee. She left with a bitter taste and it had nothing to do with the overpriced java.
Kayla happened to be wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt when she walked into the coffee shop on East Boulevard in the Dilworth neighborhood.
She tells Fox 46 the cashier took one look at her t-shirt and laughed. She also noticed her order was labeled with a political message mocking her support of the president.
Instead of her name, the cashier wrote, Build A Wall.
They shouted out, Build a Wall and shoved a drink at me and then all the baristas in the back started cracking up laughing, she said.
As you might imagine, it was a bit embarrassing for Kayla whose only offense was to spend her hard-earned money at a far-left coffee house like Starbucks.
I dont know what politics has to do with getting a cup of coffee, she told our Fox television affiliate.
Well, these days the mere mention of President Trumps name can roast a baristas beans faster than you can say, Make America Great Again.
I just walked out because everyone was staring, she said. I just found it really sad that I cant wear a t-shirt with our president without being made fun of.
The good people at Fox 46 Charlotte thought the folks at Starbucks headquarters should know what was happening in their local store and soon they received a response:
"We failed to meet this customer's expectations of us, and we have apologized and are working directly with her to make it right. This experience is not consistent with our standards or the welcoming and respectful experience we aim to provide every customer who visit our stores. We have spoken with our store partners about this situation and are using this as a coaching opportunity for the future," Starbucks said in a statement.
Kayla said she is not on some sort of crusade to get people to boycott Starbucks. She just thinks customers should be treated with a little dignity.
I dont think its right you should be humiliated for wearing a t-shirt with your opinion on it, she said.
Kayla should switch to Community Coffee. It wont bust your budget, the staff is steeped in hospitality, and the coffee doesnt taste burned.
Yep. See that’s what I would have done. And if I got grief from the manager loud and clear they would have heard....corporate will be hearing from me so I need names, of all of you.
I don’t cower or slink for anyone.
>Second of all, they dont like you, dont go back. Period.
If you let them treat you like second class citizens for your political views then the left wins. No more running away.
You are exactly the type that is needed to counter this nonsense.
We need to start a “drop the cup” movement. They will get tired of moping.
Over the years I have found that people absolutely run when when you start asking for names and writing them down. lol They’re cowards.
I would have spilled it as well - onto some of there food products. To “knock it over into his or her face (I’m not going to assume its gender) would be tempting, but would bring assault charges.
FU SBX.
Terrible and expensive coffee so quitting or changing brands should be a snap. Unfortunately Starbucks grew by forcing out the competition offered by small, independent coffee shops, thus finding a new source may be a bit more difficult than it should be.
Their coffee sucks, so I’m not patronizing them anyway, so a pro-Trump boycott is a breeze for me!
“We need to start a drop the cup movement. They will get tired of moping.”
Oh man, I like that. It wouldnt have to be that expensive an effort as long as youre dumping their lowest cost brew.
And, every “release” should be followed by a loud “Whoops!”, as suggested above.
I can see it now, we can sell t-shirts with “I have a drinking problem.” printed on the front, with “Whoops!” printed on the back.
‘...The Left counts on us cowering and slinking away...’
Agree! imho, that’s what Republicans in Congress do and, personally, I’m sick of this behavior. John Thune thinks there’s no witch hunt against the President. What world is he living in?? At one time, I donated to his campaigns although I don’t live in his State.....NO MORE. Called his Office to assertively voice my displeasure with the lack of courage by many ‘Rs’ in Congress.
I have never been on one of their coffee shops and never will be. We have one here just just short of 2 miles from my house. I also don’t buy any at the grocery store.
OK.
OK ... How about this:
Kayla to barista: Are you done mocking me?
Barista: Yes
Kayla: Is this coffee hot?
Barista: Yes
Kayla removes lid and throws hot coffee in his face: Oops, it slipped.
Barista screams like a girl, wipes his face: You Bitch!
Barista starts to climb over the counter but stops as he sees Kayla step back, move her coat aside revealing a cross-draw holster holding her pink Kahr 9mm.
Barista: So now what, bitch? You gonna shoot me?
Kayla: If you keep coming towards me Bun-Boi, I will assume that you intend to assault me. In that case I will defend myself. So now you have two choices. Accept that you were being a boorish a$$hole and apologize or keep coming over that counter and accept that your future may be very short. Choose wisely.
.
Can you live in the real world?

>> “First off, who drinks Starbucks anymore?” <<
Fools, idiots, morons, coffee haters.
I’d pour (a little accidental knock) it over on the counter and ask for my money back
This Starbucks location is getting some comments on Yelp about the incident.

If you decide to write a review, here is an article that talks about another coffee shop down the street that is better than this Starbucks.
Sorry, a little presumptive on my part....
