A pair of Swedish priests has demanded the country and church stop celebrating the Swedish national holiday “National Day” saying nationalism and patriotism are “poison”. Priests Peter Englund and Helena Myrstener from the southern, heavily migrant-populated Swedish city of Malmö have said Swedish people should stop celebrating “National Day”.
They claim that “nothing good has come out of nationalism or patriotism” and the day has been “exploited by right wing populist forces” in an editorial for left wing Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
“The nation-state is a way to organise and administer but nothing to revere,” the pair wrote. National Day, which occurs June 6 every year, replaced Whit Monday becoming the official Swedish national holiday in 2005.
According to Englund and Myrstener, patriotism is a “poison” writing: “Patriotism has its roots in the patriarchal thinking that celebrates traditional masculinity as strength, competition, inequality, and reduces men to soldiers, and women to mothers. It goes without saying that this does not create good conditions for a world without borders.”
The best way to be proud of being Swedish, according to the authors, is to celebrate the right to vote and enjoy the various parks and nature in Sweden.

As much as I could find indicates that Peter Englund is a Jesuit priest and Helena Myrstener is a minister of Limhamn Church, which is part of the Swedish Church, purporting to be an Evangelic Lutheran church. Uber feminist, anti-Christian Patriarchy, western civilization is the cause of the worlds woes and while the muslims oppress their women Christians do the same, blah, blah,blah, marxist claptrap in mufti. Dour unkempt angry bovine visage, smells of lingonberries and cabbage.
Priests of what? Who? Idiots like these two, along with the leftists/democrats/socialists/progressives/communists of the USA should be sent to the Island of Misfits and nuked!

Isn’t the Swedish National Church a Lutheran church? Just asking because the use of the term “priest” usually is reserved for Catholic or Orthodox clergy. Just curious as to who these two ‘priests’ are.

I always thought the “New World Order” was hyperbole. These globalists are making it easier for Islam to achieve their own NWO. So the left and Islam unite together for this very purpose. The left has no idea hypothetically that upon coming to the NWO, they will be exterminated as the caliphate is achieved. The Axis of WWII had nothing on this evil alliance.

Anglican and Lutheran Churches in Europe commonly use the term priest. Not so much in the US.
