They called it an M4. Which is a military rifle.

I searched around and tried to find a definitive answer to the question was it semi auto or full auto in 3 round bursts.

I doubt it is in fact an M4, but is an M4 look alike.

Makes no difference, I’m assuming it is a semi-auto .223 black rifle of some fashion.

Pretty common. It is high velocity round normally, but not a very heavy bullet. Does that make it high powered? No.

A 30-06 is a lot more powerful weapon.

A 300 Win Mag is a lot more powerful than that. And very accurate.

I’ve got an old Winchester .348 rifle that is very powerful if you shoot it with a 250gr bullet in the load. And it will kick the crap out of you when you do. smile.

I think a congress critter on scene refferred to it as “obviously a high gauge of rifle” while talking to ABC.
