Very good analysis ...
Sessions is an excellent choice. I call him the Mouse that Roars.
Not a mistake, but think he recused himself WAY too early.
Monday morning QBs.
Giuliani would have been better, IMHO.
I’m suspicious of anyone who is pushing an anti-Sessions agenda with regard to where that person stands on immigration. The NYP has a long history of attacking conservatives who want less immigration.
Sessions is all wrong for this job. I call into question Trump’s judgment on this. You need a melanin and gender protected badass in this job. Sessions is like the retired nice old grandpa sitting on the lawn sipping mint juleps. He did OK yesterday but he’s from a different era.
He’s a good man. I think he showed courage, and Trump should support him
Anyone who thinks Sessions was a bad choice is possibly either a lawbreaker or on the side of the lawbreakers.
It takes time to build a legal case, especially when the department that is investigating is corrupt. I trust him and Trump enough to keep my powder dry and give them the time they need.
Exactly.
It causes a fair amount of critical assessment on my part, when a paper that has been non-stop anti-Trump tries to put on their thinking cap and present an “even handed” commentary.
Why would I trust a thing these idiots have to say? They’ve had a Leftist anti-Trump bias for two years now.
Screw them and their slanderous lies to this point.
Sessions is doing just fine thank you very much.
This is rich coming from the NY Post, like they are so concerned.
Sessions is a just and honest man, and he knows the law like very few in DC.
He will do just fine.
I am glad he is willing to fight the Deep State.
I want a BOAR that Rousts’em all....;.../LOL
I’m guessing this dipstick probably would have wanted Eric Holder back in his old job.
Because, diversity!
I think they are simply gullible and fall for any propaganda the public (or the government propaganda system and network news networks) put out. Those who thinks he is not right for the job please call me for the opportunity to make a fortune on a single $1,000 investment into my gullible perpetual motion machine.
We don’t need PC legal heads...we need those who will follow and enforce the laws as written.
1. If not Sessions, then who would have been the ideal candidate? Rudy Giuliani is way past his prime, Chris Christie would have been a great selection five years ago but has an enormous pile of baggage right now, and almost anyone else of note who was named to this post would have had the same "Washington insider" problem that Goodwin describes here.
2. There's a good reason why Sessions wasn't concerned about the Russia investigation when he accepted the job. He knew that the whole thing was a pile of crap, and that Trump and many of his associates would end up being exposed as VICTIMS rather than perpetrators when the investigations play out. The biggest story here really isn't the phone "Russia investigation," but the covert surveillance and illegal unmasking of U.S. citizens by the Obama administration. THAT investigation can still be carried out by the U.S. Justice Department and by Congress -- and the subpoenas issued by the intelligence committee in the last couple of weeks clearly suggest that this is very much a focus of their work.
Yes. We needed street-fighter like Ruddy to fight RATS. Not nice guy Sessions.
Sessions is not a “Wartime Consigliere”.
