NN cut away from a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday morning, seconds after Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) raised concerns that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had hired a former Clinton Foundation attorney to assist with the probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Graham was questioning Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who was sitting in for Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Democrats have long accused the Trump campaign of colluding with Russia, though no evidence has emerged. There is also speculation that Special Counsel Mueller will probe allegations of obstruction of justice against President Donald Trump.
Earlier this week, reports emerged that Mueller had hired attorneys for his investigative team who had donated to Hillary Clinton in the past, and one in particular who had represented the Clinton Foundation in its effort to block Freedom of Information Act requests for e-mails on Clintons private server.
Graham: Is giving political donations a reason to disqualify somebody for serving in the Special Counsels office?
Rosenstein: No, Senator, it is not a disqualification. It is not.

So reminiscent of the
Heidi Bowl. Back when the Jets were actually a formidable team (anyone remember those days? WOW! I'm getting old! :/ ). No intent to skew the news here, it's just...um..errr..um CNN being nostalgic, yeah yeah THAT'S the ticket!

The Swamp is very self serving. Or self servicing. I like the latter better.

It appears to me that that Comey’s buddy, the “nice guy, Bobby Mueller, is loading down his “independent counsel” with Trump-hating, Clintoonistas. I guess the “independent counsel” will be going for impeachment. The swamp is out of control.

I now have to question whether Wray is a good pick. He was in close with Mueller in the past.
There are a lot of people that could be hired for Mueller’s team. He seems to be going out of his way to pick people who favor the Dems.
This could be a good thing if they don’t find anything. It would be hard for Dems to complain.
But it seems to me it would be more likely they find something by the Prosecutorial Twist

i’d really like a question like “Mr. Rosenstein, have you had any conversations with Mr. Comey or Mr. Mueller that could be characterized as planning to damage the president?”
And “even though no evidence of such has been found, would you find it appropriate to assign a special counsel to find out about it? And would you allow said special counsel to also investigate if you have obstructed justice in this investigation?... Again, even though no evidence exists of your collusion to damage the president?”

Mueller seems to be daring Trump to fire him. I almost think Trump may be better off doing what he seems to be doing, leave Mueller in place but constantly, day after day, send his surrogates out to talk about Mueller's cozy relationship with Comey, and his hiring Obama/Hillary drones. Then if Muller ever does come out with some claim of wrongdoing, everybody (or at least enough Republicans to shut the idea of impeachment down cold) will just dismiss it as a partisan hack-job.
