Do ask, do tell: US Embassy hangs flags for Pride (Gay Pride Flags in Tel Aviv)

The US Embassy went all out, draping its building with large-scale Pride flags along its external walls. The US's is the second embassy to gussy up for Pride, after the British Embassy hung a huge poster in anticipation for the month-long festivities.

The US Embassy sits on Tel Aviv's Yarkon St., and its western wall faces the boardwalk, which is the last leg of the Pride parade.

Unlike previous years, when a Pride flag was hung in front of the embassy, below the US flag, this year the colorful flag did not festoon the building's front.

The Tel Aviv Pride parade is to take place this Friday. It will begin at Meir Park and then will make its way down Bugrashov St. before heading south on the boardwalk and end in Charles Clore Park.

Ten floats will grind along the parade route, including a British Embassy float, which will include British Ambassador to Israel David Quarrey and his husband, Aldo Oliver Henriquez.

Police recommend people visiting Tel Aviv leave their cars at home, as many streets will be closed on Friday for the parade. It is also forecast to be hot—real hot. Temperatures are expected to reach 29°C.
