The government of Qatar has hired John Ashcroft, the U.S. attorney general during the Sept. 11 attacks, as it seeks to rebut accusations from U.S. President Donald Trump and its Arab neighbors that it supports terrorism.

Qatar will pay the Ashcroft Law Firm $2.5 million for a 90-day period as the country seeks to confirm its efforts to fight global terrorism and comply with financial regulations including U.S. Treasury rules, according to a Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, filing on Friday with the Justice Department.

"The firm's work will include crisis response and management, program and system analysis, media outreach, education and advocacy regarding the client's historical, current and future efforts to combat global terror and its compliance goals and accomplishments," according to a letter by Ashcroft firm partner Michael Sullivan included in the filing.

That’s the advantage of being a Washington insider. When you lose your elected or appointed office you can become a high paid lobbyist or be bed buddies with those who used to be your enemy.

Bad decision on Ashcroft’s part. Looks like he’s put money first.

ISIS was sponsored by the Turks, Saudis, Qataris, and Obama State Department.

Trump now has the keys to State, and the Saudis have thrown Qatar under the bus as they seek to distance themselves from the whole thing. The Turks announce operations against ISIS that always seem to involve killing Kurds.

Qatar is hot to prove that they have nothing to do with ISIS now...

So Trump has singlehandedly changed the game. ISIS is facing the end. Now, if we can just keep them from fleeing into Europe and America.

Well, the *described* responsibilities appear to be good things. A cynical interpretation isn’t unwarranted, but not necessarily correct. We’ll have to watch.

The Clinton Foundation took $1,250,000 (that we know of)
from Mideast kingdom--Qatar---(recently exposed as embroiled in FIFA bribery).

The Clinton presidential library in Arkansas lists Brunei, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar as donors that gave between $1 million and $5 million (at the time of research).

The Clinton foundation itself confirmed the 2002 Brunei donation: "The Clinton Foundation's impact would not be possible without the generous support of our donors," the foundation's website reads. "Their contributions have made a difference in the lives of tens of millions across the world." Read more at foxnews.com ...

==============================================

Qatar became the new home of the Gitmo Five via the infamous Bergdahl swap.

==================================================

Hillary later told Fox's Greta Van Susteren that Qatar was "not a threat to the US." Hillary never mentioned Qatar subsidizing the Clinton Library/Foundation.

Hillary's remarks lead some to believe the donation was a payoff....Hillary bribed to defend Qatar....blatantly ignoring America's ntl security interests.

=====================================================

The Clinton Library bills itself as "linking the significance of
a 20th century American presidency with the ongoing
and far-reaching work of The Clinton Global Foundation."

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

No mention of Clinton being impeached and disbarred for lying.

====================================================

REALITY CHECK Despite its grandiose self-promotion, The William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park---- is just another "Clinton Cash" snake pit.....subsidized by taxpayers,....and some shady foreign characters.

I understand, but being cynical is part of my being. I worked for NY State for almost 30 years, most of that time in uniform in the prison system. I learned to trust no one, not even the people you work with. We were taught, the only stupid question, is the one you don't ask.

Trump needs to call all sides into the Oval Office and have one of his heart to heart talks with them.

After all, he holds the “trump” card - money. And they all receive it. Money talks when the spigot begins to close.

Bad decision on Ashcroft’s part. Looks like he’s put money first.

It only looks that way because that is exactly what he is doing.

After all... He is a lawyer.

Should the Qataris hire a Brit? Seems like reasonable that they’d want someone expert on US law. We won’t likely Qatar’s regime change. But if they stop supporting terrorists that’s all to the good.

Meh. It wasn’t at all a personal comment. More an off-hand assessment of the data.

....and interesting background.

"I’m sure he was paid first too."

And I'm sure he won't have to worry about being photographed in front of any half-nude statues in Qatar.

He lost his senate seat illegally and failed to prosecute the felons responsible for allowing it, i.e. his real opponent Mel Carnahan died two weeks before the election, but they allowed his wife to step in for him and she got his seat.

He was a big supporter of the unconstitutional Patriot Act.

He wanted the FBI to be able to look up people's reading lists and books checked out of the library.

So those were three other bad choices.

He did oppose Stellar Wind even from his sick bed. So he has that in his favor.
