The older sister of accused NSA 'leaker' Reality Winner insists the American people have the right to know about Russian electoral meddling and says her sibling is a 'patriot - not a traitor'.

Sarah Nicole Lopez also took aim at President Trump for 'making an example' of 25-year-old Winner, who faces up to ten years in federal jail if it's proved she mailed a top secret document to reporters.

'This is not the Celebrity Apprentice, he's not just firing someone,' Lopez, 42, told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview. 'This is someone's life he's destroying.'

Her intervention came as her sister was told she would not be freed before her trial and prosecutors revealed she may have planned to leak ever more secrets.

Winner had searched online to find out whether or not top ‘secret computers’ detected when flash drives were inserted in them.....which speaks volumes that she knew well what she was doing was criminal......

Plus she did insert a flash drive into a top secret computer while she worked AT THE AIR FORCE BASE....though apparently the drive, or any information that was downloaded, has not been located yet that we know of......but because she has/had that information from one of our Air Force bases she would undoubtedly be ‘a target of recruitment from our adversaries’.........

Additionally she said “she was underwhelmed with what Wikileaks had TO OFFER.” .....so she was shopping for the right price...enter..Greed!

When you add into the pie she also had access to the dark web and had ‘set up burner email accounts’.....it sounds an awful lot like she had plans for more than just one leak....

Misguided patriots and traitors can look identical and the effect is identical and must be treated as traitors.

This is interesting read ...who is a Washington lawyer that regularly handles classified matters, including representation of national security whistle-blowers...who does not see Winner as a whistle-blower rather a Traitor...tells the difference...

In our system, someone doesn’t earn the title whistleblower just because her actions might support a particular ideological agenda. The classified document Winner allegedly revealed was obviously newsworthy, but ‘nothing in it exposes any type of fraud, waste or abuse — or, most important, any unlawful conduct by the U.S. government’.... If she was, indeed, the source of the Intercept’s reporting,... Winner failed to blow the whistle on anything.

As a matter of law, no one who leaks classified information to the media (instead of to an appropriate governmental authority) is a whistleblower entitled to legal protection..... That applies to Winner, Snowden and Chelsea Manning, no matter what one thinks of their actions. .....The law appropriately protects only those who follow it.... Anyone who acts contrary does so at their own peril.....

As a person authorized by the government to have access to classified information, Winner had a lawful ‘obligation’ to protect any such material from unlawful disclosure to third parties, including news outlets.... The Trump administration did exactly what the Obama administration did do, at least nine times under the Espionage Act, when faced with an obvious apparent violation of well-settled law.

Few individuals other than the president have the legal right to decide unilaterally what constitutes the national security interests of the United States, and Winner was certainly not one of them.

They caught her because only six individuals had printed this specific document, and only one — Winner — had been in contact with the Intercept from her personal email account, which she had accessed from her work computer...... The case could not have been handed more easily to the government on a silver platter.

Dear hojczyk,

She HAD a TS clearance, once she got through language and crypto schools in the Air Force.

So, the general ‘best guess’ is that when she started working for Pluribus, with ‘no other impeding information’, they rolled that military TS clearance over to Pluribus.

Dear caww,

The Russians/Soviets have been meddling in electoral affairs across the globe, from the day they drank the Karl Marx brand of fruit juice, IF you have eys to see and ears to hear.

the tired old saw of “Russian meddling in American politics”, if you flip it, becomes Ted Kennedy beseeching the Russians, and, John McCain soliciting the Russians.

(I wonder if those ‘contracted’ by the NSA, had a tooth ‘fixed’ for in case of emergencies, as was the case with previous generational direct ‘hired-in spooks’?)

I can name that tune in one note. ..and our country does likewise across the globe.

Unsurprisingly McCain just came out saying we were better off with Obama than where we are now.......he should have declared himself a democrat years ago! Everything he says and does is against this country!

Dear caww,

re: “ Everything (McCain) says and does is against this country!”

He was a songbird, on record, for the North Vietnamese, and he has been ‘lily the Schtup’ when it comes to other American military veterans.

(Schtup rhymes with ‘truck’)

McCain has always been and will be bad for this country.....I give him no room whatsoever and aware of “singing” in Vietnam and the crap he pulled....plus the planes he crashed because the only way he got where he did as a pilot were his connections....he should have never been advanced to pilot nor any other positions he’s taken since.
