Dan Abrams Discusses Whether Trump Should Prosecute Comey For Perjury
Former FBI Director James Comey gave testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee that discussed encounters that he had with President Donald Trump that raised some flags in his mind. Among them was a conversation where the President brought up the investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, where Trump allegedly expressed a desire for Comey to let Flynn go. Another was a discussion where Trump allegedly told Comey that he needs and expects loyalty. Trump and his representatives have denied that he said such things, essentially saying that Comey lied under oath.
LawNewz.com founder Dan Abrams addressed this matter during ABC News’ coverage of the hearing. “If he’s lying, you can charge him with perjury,” Abrams said. “If the position of the President is that James Comey is telling lies to the American public, making up stories about conversations they had, and swearing in front of Congress that he’s gonna tell the truth, then I think that they are obligated to prosecute.”
Indeed, unless Trump’s side of the story is false, there would be a strong perjury case against Comey. Of course, Abrams was skeptical that the Trump administration would follow through on any such measures. “Don’t count on that happening,” he said.
I think it would be up to Attorney General Sessions to prosecute...The president is not a prosecutor...
Comey, Lynch, and Clinton should all be wearing orange within the next two years.
They want to get this perjury thing out there so if Trump doesn’t charge him, they can say on all the front pages, “Why won’t trump charge Comey!!!???”
Their definitely needs to be some serious blowback for all of this stupidity being perpetrated by the Left. Heck .... if we don’t enforce the laws when they are brutally broken then .... People will just keep on breaking them and getting away with it.

Or he could pardon him — I mean the same logic with the alleged “can we drop the Flynn case” being a non-issue because at any point the President could issue a pardon applies here as well.

Not if it compromises Trump accomplishing his agenda. Putting this $hit in jail at this juncture is of secondary importance. We need for the President to be wildly successful in order to win in 2018, 20 and 22. It would be a tragedy of mammoth proportions if Trump defocussed onto taking his measure against these three. Just having this “Mueller Circle Jerk” able to go on into next year should be distressing to all of us since we know that the RATs will be trying their damnedest to keep Trump mired in this stuff just to cut his effectiveness at changing things. Show me a bunch of successes, then get back to me about putting this crap in jail!
There’s a lot of “red meat” out there that has “conservatives” drooling at it, while they don’t want to eat their vegetables (and this doesn’t need Michelle Obama to be queen to be a necessity by the nature of the case).

I would empanel a grand jury and start looking into this Clinton lynch connection asap. That will put the fear of God in them for a while.
The bovine scat is so widely scattered that it’s going to take a political movement to take care of it. There aren’t enough courts in the world to do it, even if we could be sure that all were impeccable.

Comey needs to be turned. He knows a lot that can drain the swamp faster. But he will not do that voluntarily, so he needs to be facing prison before he will do that.
Merely threatening it should help get plenty of support from horrified democRATs.
What Comey did talks a lot louder than what Comey might ever be able to say. His commentary would only be a footnote on the obvious.
He acted like a man heavily leaned upon. It’s up to the People whether they want to keep that kind of charade up.

Abrams was attacking Trump. In essence he is saying that Trump must prosecute Comey for lying and if he doesn’t then Comey is telling the truth. Hence the conclusion that no one should count on Trump prosecuting Comey.
