By my reckoning those memos were work product of his employment and, as such, not his personal property to be casually tossed around.

By admitting this Comey is even dumber than I previously thought he was.

Is he referring here to the memo that no one has actually seen?

Lynch is a POS criminal and so is Comey

Same goes for their former boss. Who thinks he didn't know all that went on related to Hillary?

One set of laws for the politically elite, another for the rest of us.

I don’t think it rises to criminality, as the memos were not classified documents. However, it glaringly shows the double standard Comey operated under: He all but admitted in July, 2016 that Hillary Clinton broke the law, yet he was opposed to the appointment of a special prosecutor (which is shocking considering his boss Loretta Lynch had an obvious conflict of interest); yet, he admitted that there was no evidence that Trump broke the law yet he leaked his memo for the purpose of having a special prosecutor appointed!

Not true, it’s not a personal memo, it was about work. A personal memo would be a grocery list.

Trump doesn't need Democrats to carry out his agenda. He needs Republicans.

It's time for Trump to put Elaine Chao's job on the chopping block.

I don't know why he is keeping her around if it's not providing any leverage with Mitch McConnell to get the Senate moving on his agenda.

Trump should have made Chao's nomination contingent on getting the rest of his nominees confirmed; instead it seems that her confirmation was fast-tracked.

Now it's time to play that card. McConnell gets on board or Chao is dismissed and replaced.

Did he simply give the memo to a friend, or did he give it with explicit instructions? I don’t think Comey is the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he’s not stupid enough to commit a crime and then describe it on national TV. If he did this in a certain way, take it to the bank that it was in order to skirt any applicable law.

Not if the spineless congress would grow a pair and start ramming the agenda through

Jon Ossoff’s body double prefers his own tax bill to that if Trump and do does nothing

That's not true. From a legal standpoint asking someone to do something for you is the same as doing it yourself.

Sort of like hiring a hit man.

I wonder if the fact that Comey said he leaked the memo to try and spur the appointment of a special prosecutor has any legal implications? He tried to influence a high level government decision by leaking uncorroborated information. If not illegal, it's definitely dirty pool and low life behavior.

There is a law against passing along classified information. There’s no law against passing along unclassified material.

Think about it. Has Hillary been accused of allowing unclassified emails to be viewed by persons without clearance, or has the entire focus been on classified information?

What makes it legal is that it wasn’t classified - not that Comey did it through a third party. Or at least that’s Comey’s reasoning. Had the memo been classified then it would have clearly been illegal. And is there ANYONE who believes this is the only thing Comey leaked? ~crickets~

Sessions would be fool to set special counsel. If he does Trump should fire him.

Someone posted elsewhere that Comey had previously testified that he hadn’t leaked certain information. The point I’m making is that a hair-splitting legalist like Comey would take very special care not to implicate himself. If he described leaking an item publicly (he did) it would have been done in such a way as to let him off the hook.
