Bingo. In other words, for decades Democrats have fractured Americans into subcategories of interest groups. As a result, the craziest of these interest groups hijacked the Democrat Party and took it hard left.
Normal Americans do not want what Democrats have defined themselves as becoming. Democrats are now comprised of a cobbled together group of kooks.
These people aren’t as stupid as they are made to appear. Democrat strategists haven’t seen the writing on the wall for over a decade, and while some have been in denial about whether they can reverse some of the phenomenon, for the most part they have known that they are losing Rural white voters, Rust belt suburbanites, and even the old block of the Union ranks. Their hope was to keep enough of these people to put them over the top along with their growing rag-tag hodge-podge of victims groups, but more importantly, to supplement that with imported voters, including undocumented latin americans, middle eastern refugees, and even foreign workers. Whichever way they can infuse the voting blocks with new blood, particularly those sympathetic to their side, the better.
What they didn’t count on was a mass exodus from the previous groups to the other side, mostly as a harsh rejection of the previous 8 years being so blatantly soft on illegals and on terrorism as well as a perceived aversion to fair trade and preserving jobs from global leaching.
Their strategy is still sound though. The NYT is being disingenuous about their doom and gloom. The exodus blocks are shrinking. The victim groups and imports are growing.
Illegal alien, you mean.
Their solution will be to promise the impossible and lie, lie, lie.
The article itself drips with the arrogance and condescending attitude that is at the heart of the Democrat’s problems in small-town America.
It must be hell to be a Democrat, especially an east coast liberal elite Democrat like those at the NYT that were so committed to making Hillary win despite the fact that Hillary could not fill a High School gym with anything but paid supporters or those bused in by some union.
I suspect it is like beginning to wake up after a night of drinking with a huge hangover. Good luck ever being taken seriously again NYT.

While this was a harder-hitting piece than most, they barely scratched the surface of the problem.
You see, Democrats hate you and want you to die, it’s super obvious to everyone, and there’s not a whole lot that P.R. and messaging expertise can do to alter that reality.
Personally I view the Democratic Party as unfixable. There’s no way to grow a base when every policy the party supports comes at the expense of some major constituency.
The DNC sees no contradiction between Obama sending planeloads of taxpayer cash to Iran on the sly while those same taxpayer/voters had their Obamacare premiums and deductibles go through the roof. There are limits to how much even hard core democrats will allow themselves to be kicked in the shins and be expected to allow it to continue.
Disarray or not, they managed win the Popular Vote.
They lost focus in States that they took for granted, but all they have to do is turn a minimal amount of Voters to flip the Electoral College where they already own 200 EV’s before they even get out of bed.
Now, imagine where they would be without the fawning Liberal Press where every Spokeshole is a Loyal Democrat.
They own the Propaganda Machine and what we are witnessing with their attempted Coup is absolute proof of it.
As far as the Voting Public is concerned, we depend on Facts and they depend on Ignorance to earn their Votes.
Their newest tact is hiding behind the Constitution like the Jihadist’s hide behind Human Shields. In both cases, there is only disdain for what they stand behind.
The NYT is only interested in rousing the Troops by printing this Story. It is simply a Recruitment tool.

The whack left has steered the democratic bus over a cliff of no return. The majority of Americans see that bunch of loony tunes as a lost cause. I forced myself to read many of the comments after the story. These people really are insane. They are socialism’s true believers and useful idiots.
They take Salon.com as the voice of moderation and reason, and as absolute truth. When people don’t agree, then they scream at them that they’re hateful, fearful, stupid and uneducated.
There are some that will never get it, and they’ll vote rat even after they are dead.
