Before she became the first person prosecuted by the Trump administration for leaking documents, Reality Leigh Winner received a military commendation for assisting in overseas airstrikes that killed hundreds of enemy combatants.
Winner, an Air Force senior airman, was a linguist proficient in Farsi, Dari and Pashto, languages spoken in Iran and Afghanistan. She served with the 94th Intelligence Squadron, 707th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing, at Fort Meade, Md.
Though her parents say Winner never deployed outside the U.S., her work was considered so valuable that in October, she earned an Air Force Commendation Medal. That was two months before her discharge.

I got a Bronze Star for being in VN. I believe it was the first “Participation” trophy.
She is a traitor. It is unfortunate that she won’t be hanged.

When I was in Air Force ROTC, they called us that back then (late 90’s). LOL!

Where on earth did she learn those languages? Was that part of her training in the AF - language school?
She appears to be too stupid to be useful to anyone as a spy. I think she was perfect for the job of leaking the super-secret bogus "intel". She was a disposable dupe.

Well, that explains that. I guess Texans must get some pretty fancy educations to be able to speak so many different languages ie Farsi, Dari and Pashto.
I sewed on E-5 in 3 years and 9 months and she was only an E-3? She sure let that commendation go to waste.
Being in Vietnam, you earned it.
Defense Language Institute (a DOD School) in Monterey Ca. The two best places to quickly learn a language well enough to use it is this DOD school and the Mormon mission language school. To learn something exotic like Farsi, Darla, etc the best place is the Monterey school.
C’mon people you can have a gift for languages and still be a left wing loon! They are not mutually exclusive!
I was awarded the AFCM, mainly for not falling out of the aircraft during airdrop missions.
I’m also skeptical that she could be ‘fluent’ in those languages in a couple years in the AF. Although it is possible she’s some kind of savant in languages.
I am told its more like Russian/Ukrainian or Spanish/Portuguese.
