I took a sports car we had restored, to be painted red from black to a big name paint shop here back in the early 80s. It must have been painted by a 10 year old.

They painted everything on the car:

The trim, the black body panels, the removable roof (it was a convertible), the windshield wipers, the antenna, even the the wheels, everything!

We were so mad and yelling and screaming at them they threatened to call the cops............................

Was it a Earl Scheib $99.00 coast to coast paint job. Bait and switch. Apparently they couldn't switch you to the higher end paint job,and you get what you pay for!

You paid for the paint job - maybe there was extra charge for masking ;)

Funny THEY threatened to call the cops; you should have beat them to the phone and reported a felonious act of vandalism. Would have been righteous to get somebody hauled off and booked into jail over that level of stupidity.

You end up getting the car rescued? Did the joint have to foot the bill for someone ELSE to meticulously undo the damage they did AND redo it properly?
