so-called “Professor” Joyce Chaplin is a moron....
Amazing what kind of dreck they can drag into Ivy League faculty positions.
Besides, wtf does the 1783 Treaty of Paris have to do with an utterly unrelated agreement 2 centuries later? Because there was a 1783 treaty ending a war, therefore a totally unrelated non-treaty 234 years later must be accepted? Insanity. Just because they both were signed in Paris/???
This is the kind of psycho b.s. that liberal profs are foisting upon our young every day.

I love the title of the Treaty of Paris. Of course, it's in cursive so our kids will never know what it says.

She should ask for her money back.

All the Treaty did is compel Britain's new gov't to recognize a fait accompli: U.S. independence. The U.S. already existed and thus SIGNED it. The Brits also ceded new fishing rights to the U.S., and additonal land. The U.S. agreed to stop persecution of Loyalists and allow creditors in Britain to take actions to collect on debts owed before the conflict.
It was NOT "international," nor even with France. It was a bi-lateral agreement between two sovereign nations.

And this is why I will not hire an Ivy League grad.

I would remind Cruz that the Paris climate accord was not a treaty. It was not ratified by the Senate, a constitutional requirement for all treaties.

Our nation was founded in 1776 with the signing of The Declaration of Independence. The British kicked our asses for four years. Most hope was lost but freedom stilled burned in our hearts. Thanks to Lafayette of the French and the support of France we were able to prevail. Cornwallis surrendered 5 years after we rebelled.
It was some years later that the greatest document on earth with the exception of the bible was written, The Constitution of The United States. That document is freedom. We must not lose it. It is in peril today.
Oddly enough there would be no United States if not for France. However we paid them back in full with our blood in WWI and WWII. I like the old French that went through WWII and even Vietnam before we went to Vietnam. I have nothing but scorn for the French Government of the last 40 years. They have betrayed their great nation in the pursuit of political correctness and cowardice. French soldiers and airmen are not cowards. They are very good at killing. Their government is the coward.

I would remind Cruz that the Paris climate accord was not a treaty. Why do you think that Cruz needs to be reminded of that fact?

To: AndyJackson
I would remind Cruz that the Paris climate accord was not a treaty. After reading Senator Cruz's tweets, it is clear that he did not accept the professor's premise that the agreement was a treaty. The author of the article seemed to accept that, but not Sen. Cruz.
