Kathy Griffin is set to explain the reasoning behind her controversial photo shoot with a bloodied mask of President Trump and respond to alleged bullying from the Trump family on Friday.
Griffin and attorney Lisa Bloom said in a joint news release they will hold a press conference in Woodland Hills, Calif. 12 p.m. It will be the first comments Griffin has made since she was relieved of her duties as CNNs New Years Eve host.
Griffin received major backlash after the photo was published on Tuesday of her holding a bloodied mask that resembled President Trump. She apologized for the photo shoot and YouTube video later, acknowledging she "went too far." However, by Wednesday morning, her attempt at a joke clearly fell flat among the public.
Donald Trump Jr. called for CNN to drop Griffin as a commentator shortly after the image went viral. "Dear CNN, I must have missed your statement banning your commentator #KathyGriffin from future shows. Please resend. Thx," he tweeted.
Both the president and first lady also called the photos "disturbing," Trump adding that the photo took a toll on his youngest son, Barron.
Griffin has co-hosted CNNs New Years Eve Live with Anderson Cooper since 2007. Cooper criticized Griffin's actions as "disgusting."

Wouldn't that necessitate an actual intelligent question by the media to elicit an answer?
Unless Bloom is doing this pro bono. Good news, her client is screwed either way.
:)
I refer you to Rush Limbaugh’s Undeniable Rules of Life #24...
Ginger ISIS.
Hopefully someone with a brain and/or a conscience will sneak in. Those 2016 comments about Barron Trump have bugged even some hardened and hard-hearted lefties.
Hopefully this will be widely televised.
"Kathy Griffin Thinks Comedy Should Go All Out on President Piece of S**t Donald Trump"

By Shira LevineIts a question a lot of comedians are asking themselves lately: What should comedy look like during the Trump presidency? Now more than ever we must absolutely go for all the absurdities, Kathy Griffin told Vulture at the Equality Now Gala Tuesday night.
For me, thats Trump and all things Trump. Its not about trying to be an equal-opportunity offender anymore because Hillary got such a beat down. Its his turn. So Im happy to deliver beat down to Donald Trump and also to Barron. You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, my edge is that Ill go direct for Barron. Im going to get in ahead of the game.
So, of course, Griffin supported Rosie ODonnell when she tweeted a video asking if Barron Trump, 10-year-old son of Donald and Melania, was on the autism spectrum. After the beat down he gave her, she can say whatever she wants to say to that piece of s**t, Griffin said before correcting herself. Oh, thats President Piece of S*t.
LOL! I guess they just can't help themselves - he didn't "call for her to be dropped", he merely pointed out that they hadn't seen fit to do it.....
“If the gop were smart, they would now make Griffin and the black uniformed, masked rioters the face of the democrat party. Feature them both in every ad between now and 2020.”
She is in the latest anti John Ossoff ads.
Lisa Bloom and Gloria can’t do everything Pro Bono, which is how it always looks.
Well, I was just checking out CA’s stalking and cyberstalking laws. Those 2016 comments sure look criminal to me.
Her attorney should be advising Griffin to hide under a rug for a couple of mos instead of pouring gas on a fire.
Q: Anyone know where Griffin was when she gave that 2016 interview, in which state? Does that matter, especially since the interview was available online? Would federal laws on stalking/cyberstalking apply? Paging any FReeper legal eagles. :-)

The reason she did it was to try and be edgy. Period. There was no further thought involved.
LOL! Watching the presser, they are trying to say it was a “parody” of Trump’s “Blood coming out of wherever.” comment about Meghan Kelly, and not a depiction of violence.
No sale!
More details please! Can’t find it online.
She’s telling jokes. I’m about to puke.
Says no one has ever been persecuted by a sitting president for exercising 1st amendment rights.
Uh, what about that video that allegedly sparked the Bhengazi attack? Guess we’re supposed to forget about that.
