Kathy Griffin is set to explain the reasoning behind her controversial photo shoot with a bloodied mask of President Trump and respond to alleged bullying from the Trump family on Friday.
Griffin and attorney Lisa Bloom said in a joint news release they will hold a press conference in Woodland Hills, Calif. 12 p.m. It will be the first comments Griffin has made since she was relieved of her duties as CNN’s New Year’s Eve host.
Griffin received major backlash after the photo was published on Tuesday of her holding a bloodied mask that resembled President Trump. She apologized for the photo shoot and YouTube video later, acknowledging she "went too far." However, by Wednesday morning, her attempt at a joke clearly fell flat among the public.
Donald Trump Jr. called for CNN to drop Griffin as a commentator shortly after the image went viral. "Dear CNN, I must have missed your statement banning your commentator #KathyGriffin from future shows. Please resend. Thx," he tweeted.
Both the president and first lady also called the photos "disturbing," Trump adding that the photo took a toll on his youngest son, Barron.
Griffin has co-hosted CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” with Anderson Cooper since 2007. Cooper criticized Griffin's actions as "disgusting."

All I need to know about Griffin: A couple months ago I walked past homosexual bar and saw a large poster in window promoting her appearance at a nearby 2000 seat hall. First time I ever saw poster in their window. Then the other day I saw her described as “gay icon”.
If the gop were smart, they would now make Griffin and the black uniformed, masked rioters the face of the democrat party. Feature them both in every ad between now and 2020.
Wrong, it’s going to be a gigantic whine-fest in which they try to change to “framing” to “Trump family bullies female artist on Twitter and she loses gigs.”
Just watch.
She will make a perfunctory statement of regret about the photo/video, and then it will all be trying to turn the MSM toward trashing Trumps. How dare they object to such a photo??? How dare they pick on this beloved struggling “artist” of female and gay-loving persuasion? How dare they challenge this lioness of the politically correct left?
She is jumping the shark.

This situation will boost her career, not hurt it.
There are a kazillion wacko people out there on the left that enjoy ANY SLAM at President Trump, even something as sick as Griffin’s 30 May stunt.

At her press conference, I think she'll be showing a head that is more disgusting than the Trump head that she held up in the picture.
She and her attorney are dumb twats. Both are a disgrace to this nation. I wish them both a long life of misery and suffering.
Her mother taught her well, but I think she’s bitten off more than she can chew at this point..........................She may not have been aware of her client’s previous statement saying that she was ‘going after Barron’ in December at some gala......................
I can’t wait to hear Bloom’s defense for threatening a child with a “beat down”.

I suppose she will blame Trump Family influence on losing her gig at CNN and her entertainment dates.
She is going to have a hard time proving any of this, and given Trump's penchant for not settling most law suits and litigating till the bitter end. Kathy Griffin will be 10 years older and pretty broke from attorney fees.
