It’s not. It’s a joke trying to make fun of believers by “new atheist” types.

Ironic thing is it’s really mainly puerile males with what we might call “Jesus issues”.

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not responsible for armed conflicts all over the world killing thousands of innocents; so how does a court rule out the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as a true religion without simultaneously ruling out vastly more absurd major religions?

If they can rule that this is not a true religion, then why can’t they rule that islam is not a religion.

Because it isn’t. It’s an ideology of conquest, world domination, oppression, and control which is only pretending to be a religion.
