Roger Waters Attacks Trump During Pigs Tour Rehearsal
The “intellectually challenged” often need continual attention. They don’t realize how pathetic they are even though they’re rich.
Attended a Pink Floyd concert many years ago on a balmy summer night in an outdoor stadium with a humongous quad sound system.
The music was fantastic and delivered without a bit of politics to sour the experience.
But I wouldn’t spend a red cent to see them again now that they have decided to go the Dixie Chicks route and push their leftist politics on paying fans.
One good song, eh?
SMH.
I'll give David Gilmour credit though for walking the walk and giving away vast amounts of his fortune to charity.
That being said, I still love Pink Floyd. And would definitely go and see Rogers show even though I find his need to whine about Trump pretty funny.
Same here. I've long ago reconciled that leftists create most of the music I love and conservatives don't. I just like the songs.
Comes by it honest. His father was a Communist who opposed the UK defending itself from the Nazis until the Soviets broke their pact with Hitler.
He is most definitely a rabid raving Israel-hater, as are so many on the left. Some try to draw lines between hating/attacking Israel and “anti-Semitism” as generalized Jew hatred. Many do think that Waters long ago obliterated any such lines even if they could be drawn theoretically, with his raving against “the Jewish lobby” and his conspiratorial mutterings linking Israeli policies with Nazis in the 1930s:

David seems to have considerably more self control than Roger does in terms of politics. He’s generally a classier guy IMO, but he shares the same views as the rest of the band mates did as far as I know, and that’s cool, people can think what they want.
Also it’s probably safe to say that a good majority of Pink Floyd fans are also on the left, so I can understand why this type of thing would be in a show.
But yeah, almost all of the music that I have enjoyed in my life comes from people that I share nothing in common with politically.
Creative people, generally speaking, are left minded, and they make some damn good music! I appreciate them very much for that too.
I routinely give musicians a political pass, because I love music. But actors do not get a pass. I can live without movies, so a bit of advice to them. Don’t piss me off.
Drug-addled aging rock-and-rollers have been pushing the ridiculous “outrage” and “resist” cliches for so long, and their habits and thought patterns are so well-formed — there’s no chance they can ever see how ridiculous they look, and certainly no changing them.
thank you very much for doing this. I have tickets for his Sacramento show next week. I have no idea how to get a refund.
Damn him, anyway. Hate when these people pull this crap.
Creative people often tend toward communism except that they usually turn out to be remarkably attached to their own wealth. They will often adopt a “share it all, Kumbaya” outlook in theory while remaining stubbornly selfish and materialistic in their own lives.
Listened to my original record of Animals just 2 days ago. Final Cut is in the que.
Rogers influence has been well established in Pink Floyds music, as well as the fact that he is an insufferable asshole and uber liberal hypocrite.
Agree Brit Floyd is extremely good. The real genius is in the writing of the music, but Brit Floyd arguably actually plays the music in concert better than the real Pink Floyd did.
The vocalist who does “The Great Gig In The Sky” (1:28:18) does the best version I’ve ever heard, and again, blonde white girl.
There is still some politics in that big “eye” thing over the stage, which I’ve always thought was stupid.
That is an unfair assessment of Pink Floyd. I’ll meet you on the Dark Side of the Moon and we’ll discuss it further...
You’re crazy, but you’re welcome to your opinion. :)
Yeah, I used to enjoy their music. Sigh.
Luckily, there are lots of good bands out there...
So stupid.
The Floyd died when Syd Barrett left
When you like your music sophomoric and pretentious, than Pink Floyd is for you.
