I'll give David Gilmour credit though for walking the walk and giving away vast amounts of his fortune to charity.
That being said, I still love Pink Floyd. And would definitely go and see Rogers show even though I find his need to whine about Trump pretty funny.
Same here. I've long ago reconciled that leftists create most of the music I love and conservatives don't. I just like the songs.
David seems to have considerably more self control than Roger does in terms of politics. He’s generally a classier guy IMO, but he shares the same views as the rest of the band mates did as far as I know, and that’s cool, people can think what they want.
Also it’s probably safe to say that a good majority of Pink Floyd fans are also on the left, so I can understand why this type of thing would be in a show.
But yeah, almost all of the music that I have enjoyed in my life comes from people that I share nothing in common with politically.
Creative people, generally speaking, are left minded, and they make some damn good music! I appreciate them very much for that too.
I routinely give musicians a political pass, because I love music. But actors do not get a pass. I can live without movies, so a bit of advice to them. Don’t piss me off.
These are two of my favorite Gilmour vids on youtube:
Shine on You Crazy Diamond (accoustic)
Wish You Were Here (accoustic)
I saw an interview with him, and he's really brutal about how bad they could be in the early days of Floyd. It was pretty funny. Said he's been working on it now for years, and thinks he might have it all down now.
