John F. Kennedy would be 100 years old on Monday, were he still alive. The 35th president of the United States was killed in 1963, midway through his term in office, but he is revered today as one of the most towering figures in modern American politics.

Kennedy’s strategy, though. He foresaw the need to pick a goal that we, the US, could reasonably accomplish before the Russians who had just managed to orbit Yuri Gagarin. At the time we didn’t have a rocket powerful enough to put a man into orbit. We were a couple years behind the Russians at that point.

I’m always entertained by libs’ wistful musing about “what ifs” had JFK not been assassinated. Kennedy was wracked hard by Addison’s Disease and many in the medical arena believe he would’ve died a painful death just a few years later.
This guy’s shining moment was getting killed. Now the lefties get to paint him any color they want and no one really wants to defy them because he was murdered. Something on the order of no one wanting to oppose obama because he’s black.
Now, let’s go back to Reagan. Let’s say Hinkley was successful and killed Ronnie, and also wounded Brady.
The left would still firmly hate Reagan and promote gun control via Brady.

They could not tolerate 8 years of dramatic economic growth, followed by another 8 years of Bobby. It was no coincidence that both had to go.

Irony - had the dems not stolen the election, he would not have been assassinated.
In WW2 He slept with a German spy. He was transferred elsewhere. Later his torpedo boat got run over by a Japanese destroyer which killed a couple of the men. Got a medal for it thanks to his corrupt father.

Nearly started WW3 after abandoning men who were trying to overthrow Castro then the Russians put nuclear weapons in Cuba as they saw a weak man.
Speaking of which, he cheated on his wife at every opportunity.
Started sending many troops to Vietnam (Johnson accelerated it after Kennedy death) Led to millions dying in Southeast Asia and the democrats abandoning the Vietnamese just like the men on Cuba. The democrat party taken over by socialist and commies
I used to believe this, until we all experienced the debacle of 2012. The GOP since 1932 has generally been very good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Neither Goldwater nor Rockefeller would have been able to overcome the massive media support for JFK. Kennedy would have lost most of the South, but he would have won in the northeast, the Midwest, and the left coast. It wouldn't have been a landslide, but it wouldn't have been a nailbiter either.
This past Friday towards the end of the Memorial Day presentation at my local high school, Rep. John Larson, being the Democrat he is, after his political lecture, to make himself look good, remind the audience of the JFK 100th birthday.
“You mean Came-a-lot.”

And that “Camelot” thing: It was invented by Jackie as PR for her kids’ legacy. What a load of crap.
