Comey acted on Russian intel known to be fake: report

Former FBI Director James Comey acted on key information created by Russian intelligence in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails that he knew to be fake, CNN reported Friday.

Unidentified officials told CNN that Comey feared that if the information became public it would undermine the investigation as well as the Justice Department itself.

The false information reportedly spurred the then-FBI chief to publicly declare last summer that the investigation into Clinton’s emails was over. Meanwhile, Comey also said that Clinton had been “extremely careless” in her handling of classified information.

Comey went all out to protect zer AND HRC, as perhaps he wasn’t so sure HRC was going to win the election. By taking the mess on himself he thought he could salvage everybody’s legacy.

So there is an email,from DWS to Hillary promising Lynch will drop the investigation? Why would Russia create this? Sounds likely to me. Why should it be classified? Will anyone ask Comey about it?

The CNN report differs from a recent WaPo report. According to the WaPo, it is NOT true that Comey KNEW the report to be false; they still don't know. The authenticity of the report was, however, in dispute.

The report mentioned - by name - people in the Justice Department and in the Hillary campaign, and in a Soros-funded organization, and claimed that word was being passed around to insure the Hillary campaign that no charges would be filed in the email case. According to the WaPo, the FBI never interviewed ANY of the people mentioned in the report, just like they never examined the DNC's computer server.

I think this reporter is twisting the story 180 degrees... the Wash Po came out with the story first and it read quite differently.

According to the WaPo, the document in question was a Russian intelligence document that had somehow been intercepted by the FBI. The document made references to email communications between the Justice Department and the Clinton campaign, and a Soros-funded organization, more or less promising that the Clinton email case would come to nothing.

The authenticity of the information in the report was never known to be fake, but some in the FBI suspected that it was fake, while others disagreed. According to the WaPo, none of the specific individuals named in the report - including Debbie Wasserman Schultz - were ever interviewed by the FBI. This story lowers my view of the FBI even more.

They just want very much for us to believe it is fake.

They claim it’s fake only because Amanda Renteria claims she doesn’t know Lynch or some such thing.
