UK Stops Sharing Intel About Manchester Attack With US After Leaks
Daily Caller ^ | May 25, 2017 | Jacob Bojesson

British police have stopped sharing information about the Manchester Arena bombing investigation with the U.S. after leaks to the media, the BBC reported Thursday.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd warned the U.S. Wednesday about “irritating” leaks despite assurances from American officials. Images from the attack appeared in The New York Times just hours later, which was the final straw for British authorities.

Prime Minister Theresa May will raise the issue with President Donald Trump at a NATO summit Thursday in Brussels. Officials believe the leaks are coming from U.S. law enforcement, rather than the White House.

“Apparently, the UK is upset that somewhere, someone, just might do something to stop Islamic terror.”
*************************************************
I guess that you believe the leakers to the New York Times, as well as the NYT itself, are on the side of the angels and want to do all they can to motivate the Brits to uncover all the Islamist conspirators involved in this monstrous act? And you think the U.K. investigators are trying to avoid uncovering ALL involved conspirators and stopping Islamic terrorism.

You couldn't be more wrong about both the leakers and the New York Times. And you're wrong about the U.K. It will not be the first time you're completely wrong and deficient in your thinking.

I don’t see refusing to share intel as the smart way forward, but I can get why they’d be angry about information leaking. You don’t want anything getting out before you’re ready for it to come out. Even some minor detail could tip off co-conspirators about how far along an investigation is, make them feel like the police could be paying them a visit sooner than they thought and trigger the destruction of evidence that might otherwise have been seized if the police still had the element of surprise.

Won’t often actually be the case that an early leak has a material effect on an investigation, and it’s not always possible for investigators to keep a lid on all the information as they’d want, but they should at least be able to trust other security services to handle the information correctly.

She banned Savage from traveling to the U.K., but allows Islamist’s to buzz back and forth between UK,Syria and Lybia. Makes great sense doesn’t it? Plus she supports terror with cash and housing for the so called refugees.

I see this differently.

I think the UK is doing Trump a favor — perhaps even at his request.

Trump has been plagued by leaks for months. He’s spoken about it. He has said he would fire people. I think he will do so very soon — but, of course, the US Media will attack him for an internal purge and his McCarthyite loyalty test — or whatever.

BUT — if the leakers within the Trump Admin have now caused an international incident, and if the UK is now withholding information from us that we need to fight terrorism ... well, I guess that fully justifies President Trump’s attempt to do a little housecleaning.

I think the UK is helping us work the political end of this. Leakers will be sent packing.

And now she blames Trump!

I have never liked this woman. She sets my teeth on edge with that plummy voice and the inappropriate outfits she wears - suitable for Princess Diana not an elderly broad with skinny legs.

I know people here love Theresa May, but she’s as much of an idiot as the rest of them.

One thing that was pointed out several times during the Brexit campaign was that it was not EU regulations on “refugees” and “immigrants,” tolerance of jihadis, classification of any comment about Islam as punishable hate speech, etc. that were the problem, but the laws of the UK itself, which are much more Muslim extremist friendly than those of the EU. The UK has been letting this grow and fester for years, and their generous welfare payments to jihadis - er, excuse me, refugees - has made it a magnet. Lavish British welfare, no questions asked, is why the Muslims are fighting to get out of France and across the Channel, and in fact one of the things that draws them across Europe, no matter where they enter.

The UK should put its own house in order first and get serious about eliminating Islamic terrorism. Instead, they obviously hope to be able to cover it up.

Wow, there must be something wrong. You’re demonstrating that a FReeper can actually pause to think before posting. Thank you! I wish more FReepers would take a lead from you.

Unfortunately, thanks to the Obama Regime, the Federal Government is heavily infiltrated by Moslem Botherhood sympathizers. They have not been purged; thanks to the Civil Service laws, it might be impossible to purge them.
So there is plenty of blame to go ‘round.

Being an inveterate traveller to GB and who reads all the newspapers from that country that are available online as well as their blogs, I will stick to my opinion that if the leaders of that country can find a scapegoat that is not their own shady government, they will. And if that scapegoat is American, it’s like icing on the cake.

We know there are bad people in the deep state. Trump has at least 4 years to do something about it. Let Britain take care of their jihadis and stop shifting blame.

Very interesting post. I just saw in the Financial Times, in one of the paragraphs on the Manchester bombing, they make a big point on how Donald Trump conveyed “very sensitive intelligence information” coming from Israel to the Russian foreign minister (never mentioning of course Trump’s and McMaster’s assertions to the contrary).

So how soon is it before they start dragging in the usual suspects for blame (Trump’s travel ban, Russian bombing raids - must have made Muslims mad). All Trump’s and Putin’s fault.
