I dont know if Roger Ailes did all the stuff he was accused of doing. I do know that he didnt make Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky carry on a sexual relationship under the roof of the White House and then lie about it.
But admitting that wouldnt help Lewinsky get an editorial published in the New York Times. This did:
This is not another obituary for Roger Ailes, who died last week 10 months after being ousted at Fox News. It is, I hope, instead an obituary for the culture he purveyed a culture that affected me profoundly and personally.
Just two years after Rupert Murdoch appointed Mr. Ailes to head the new cable news network, my relationship with President Bill Clinton became public. Mr. Ailes, a former Republican political operative, took the story of the affair and the trial that followed and made certain his anchors hammered it ceaselessly, 24 hours a day
My family and I huddled at home, worried about my going to jail Meantime, Mr. Ailes huddled with his employees at Fox News, dictating a lineup of talking heads to best exploit this personal and national tragedy.
Her editorial goes on like that. She was the victim of mean ol Roger Ailes, who exploited her tragedy for ratings. Poor Monica Lewinsky. Boo-hoo.
Lewinsky decries what she calls our culture of shame and vitriol. She says that Ailes is somehow a hypocrite because he made his name by exploiting a sex scandal while being accused of sexual harassment. But Ailes didnt make her do what she did. Ailes didnt make Bill Clinton lie about it under oath. I dont blame her for resenting a lot of the things that people have said about her, myself included, but shes not a helpless victim. She did what she did. The 42nd President of the United States did what he did. The two of them are responsible for their own actions.
Yet in an 839-word piece, Lewinsky mentions Bill Clinton just once. Her harshest words are reserved for the people who reported about his actions. Twenty years later, Monica Lewinsky is still blaming everybody except the one man whos most responsible for her torment.
Thats love for ya.
Say, has the NYTs preferred presidential candidate in 2016 commented on this editorial yet? Im sure shes read it.
Somebody got down on their knees, so it must have been Roger...
Did Roger give Bill the cigars?
The starry-eyed princess, on her knees before the king, just knows her heart-felt passionate embrace is returned 100 fold.
“Wonder what this little tramp thinks when wherever she goes, the first thing people look at when they see her is her MOUTH.”
Purdy little mouth.
“As I rained blows upon him”. Frank Costanza and Monica Blewclinski.
“wherever she goes, the first thing people think of when they look at her is ...cigar, then thong, then semen stained dress (that she didn’t wash).”
What a legacy!
Does Bill still have the cigar? (or did Hillary and Huma smoke it?)
Roger Ailes did not force Monica to go down on her knees and put Bill Clinton’s penis in her mouth and allow him to splooge all over her dress.
She wasn’t young and innocent.
But she was young and foolish.
Let’s not forget the Lewinski “Thong Flash” signal to president Bill that she was ready and willing.
Little did she know that thong flash would lead to her becoming immortalized as in the term “giving a Lewinski”.
This all misdirection away from the love child story.
Bill is the predator here and has apparently wrecked this girl’s life along with God only knows how many others.
sheesh, such high horse you are on... believe me, it is not that easy to resist the attractions of power as is proven every day in ordinary life. She’s human, be a little less judgmental. Bill, now he is just a predator.
I have a bridge in Brooklyn you would just love
A classic kill the messenger, the last refuge for the guilty.
She’s a stupid ho’, Bill’s a sexual predator and somehow the guy who built an Empire to stand against the slanted Media is to blame?!?
F’U, Monica...
I am confused.... I am not sticking up for her statement! She is responsible for her actions.
so you think she was NOT a willing participant? Ok.
A real slut wouldn’t waste a drop. Monica Blewwinski wasn’t even a decent tramp.
LOL! You don’t mince words. :^)
I regret the passing of Fox.
She was willing
