They’re trying to graduate from HS and the parents are behaving like spoiled preschoolers.
500 kids and $30+ MILLION in scholarships. That’s an AVERAGE of $61,200 per kid! They must all be geniuses! Or something.
Another reason why college is so expensive (that and the easy government loans).
The Ringling Bros. Circus just closed down forever.
Probably because it couldn’t compete with the real circus sideshow on the streets and in our neighborhoods every day.
These days the clowns, freaks, animals and side shows are outside the Big Top and performing for free.

I wonder what Jerry Springer’s “Final Thought” on this would be.
It does sound implausible, but it must be the 4-year total and I wouldn’t be surprised if they folded all the loans and work-study into the figure. Back in the day we were given a “total” sum for the financial aid package even though not all of it was grant or “scholarship”....

My first thought was yikes, that’s a lot of debt.

At least $30,000,000 wasted going to todays colleges, so the students can seek safe places to comfort them in their snowflake daze.

My daughters class was a bit more precise in their wording... over $25milliin awarded and over $5.3M accepted. Seems that a lot of those dollars are from different schools to the same kids. But they can only go to one.

When I graduated high school in 1976, the audience politely applauded after each name was called. When I attended my nephew’s high school graduation a few years ago it was chaos. Air horns, screaming, people jumping up and down, so much noise I could not hear the names being called out.
Same here (Class of ‘77). Young students today are sooo much more emotionally supportive of each other and that’s what makes them better than the rest of us. Looking back on it now, I wish we could’ve been more like they are. I’m sooo ashamed! /s

I was being critical of Jerry Springer and that particular “genre’” of TV show. You put a negative-toned spin on what I posted and that is an abuse of the power of suggestion. Keep it up and I’ll be critical of you!
