Fox News Channel is parting ways again with Bob Beckel, the co-host of its primetime program, The Five.
Bob Beckel was terminated today for making an insensitive remark to an African-American employee, the network said in a statement.
The dismissal opens or perhaps closes another chapter in an off-and-on relationship Beckel has had with the 21st Century Fox-owned cable-news outlet over the years. Beckel, a longtime political consultant as well as a former campaign manager for Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale, joined Fox News in 2000, and had a years-long tenure on The Five when it aired in the late afternoon. Indeed, he was one of the programs original co-hosts.

Oh for cryin’ out loud. Is that all? Was he kidding? Joking around with somebody? I mean, that’s the epitome of thin skin in my opinion.
Obviously, something to not be said at work these days (first amendment notwithstanding), but it is certainly not grounds for firing in my opinion.
Now, Beckel’s crazy liberalism is grounds for firing, or not even being hired by Fox, but that comment, if true, isn’t sufficient.
Fired from Fox. . .again?
Dems just can’t control themselves.

I have known and traveled with Bob Beckel for 20 years. His civil rights record is impeccable, as was his father’s who marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. I don’t believe any of this. Sounds like some guy taking advantage of Fox’s weakened condition along with a greedy lawyer. Fight back, Bob!
probably it is- good find- didn’t know Leadbelly did that song- love the old blues music- (love Appalachian music too)
lol i had forgotten about the optigrab part- loved them ovie though- gonna see if i can find it online now-
(Your response inspired me to look up "Appalachian Music" on youtube, and one of the links that came back from that search was this collection of songs - "Appalachian Folk Music" - which I started to listen to. It has some good ones in it, with high harmonies, etc. One of the ones in that set - "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow" - was also included on one of Bob Dylan's early albums in the 60's, as linked here - "Man of Constant Sorrow" - Bob Dylan.)
What else would you expect from the MORON Beckel-—he paid a prostitute with a check! I mean really, how stupid can you be? Good Riddance to the clown——
there’s a couple of good old ‘High lonesome sound” singers like roscoe holcomb, blind wille johnson (who’s instrumental “Dark was the night” was sent out into outer space in the SETI project incase there is intelligent life out there- And hwo inspired many rock legends of today- (they both have unique voices to say the least- if you enjoy pure voices like theirs- you’ll like the music- Roscoe was a man who was quite sickly- think he had tuberculosis- Blind Willie’s mother or father went to throw lye in the face of their spouse, and ended up hitting him- blinding him)
I love that they weren’t mainstream- weren’t perfect, although quite good still- and just played and sang from the soul-
here’s a movie I think you’ll enjoy about mountain music- but be warned- it’s got a dyke in the movie- they couldn’t do a movie about Appalachian music without putting in a totally inappropriate gay scene apparently

watch emmy rossum in the movie- she does one song i nthere that is awesome how she manipulated the words by drawign htem out to fit the tune- I’m see if i can find it- but here she is doing Barby Allen

Thanks! I’ll check them out.
I hope some BLM thug caps him
I suspect that Cal Thomas is right about this matter. FNC keeps going from bad to worse, and this is yet another example of poor Fox management. The newly constituted “Five” is barely watchable now that Eric Bolling has left (his new program is even worse, but not because of him), and with Beckel’s departure, I’m sure that poor ratings will result in its eventual cancellation. The time really has come for free market competition to provide some new alternatives to FNC. OAN is okay for what it is, but I would like to see the Blaze network more widely available, including on DirecTV (which might actually happen if Bill O’Reilly joins the Blaze, as has been reported as a possibility). If NewsMax management ever gets its act together, it might also be nice to have NewsMax TV back in the DirectTV lineup. If not, then perhaps JD Hayworth (who was a guest commentator on FNC recently) might be worth considering for his own FNC program to replace some of the poor choices that Fox management has been making lately—assuming, of course, that Hayworth’s program would not include the awful “talk TV” format that undoubtedly contributed to the demise of NewsMaxTV on DirecTV. Another possibility would be Dennis Michael Lynch (actually fired by NewsMax TV before DirecTV dropped them), who would be guaranteed to improve FNC ratings dramatically, but who perhaps would not be politically correct enough for the Murdoch sons and their wives.
