What Israel and Palestine Can Learn from Trump's The Art of the Deal
American Thinker.com ^ | May 17, 2017 | Gidon Ben-Zvi

Two-state solution advocates recently received a boost when President Donald Trump hosted Palestinian Authority (P.A.) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the White House. Abbas's urging of Trump to restart Israeli-Palestinian negotiations from the offer made by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is like a seductive siren song to the perpetually hopeful. According to the latest edition of the official Palestinian narrative, the differences between Jerusalem and Ramallah on borders narrowed a great deal during the 2008 peace talks. Indeed, had Olmert not left politics, so goes the P.A.'s view of recent diplomatic history, it would have been possible to reach an agreement on the borders, as well as bridge all the other gaps.

Let's assume that Abbas would have agreed to Olmert's offer, which included Israel's return to the 1967 borders with 6.3% of the West Bank annexed to Israel, territory swaps, safe passage between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, all Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem falling under Palestinian sovereignty, dividing Jerusalem into two capitals and Israel allowing a certain number of refugees to return.

Furthermore, let's take the P.A. at its word, and accept that Abbas's main objection to Olmert’s proposal was that the former supported Israeli annexation of only 1.9% of the disputed territories.

If both sides were so precariously close to closing the deal of the century, what went wrong? Perhaps Chairman Abbas, whom we've been told by members of the mainstream media, foreign diplomats and tenured professors is Israel's only viable peace partner, should read President Trump's 1987 bestseller, The Art of the Deal.

Hard to reach a deal with people who’s ultimate goal is to kill you.

Correct, the Palestinians want the Jewish people completely out of the Holy Land they are not interested in any deal. There will be no peace in Jerusalem until The Second Coming of Christ.

There is no Palestinian language

There is no Palestinian history

There are no Palestinian artifacts

You cannot find one Palestinian archeological dig.

There is no Palestinian language

There is no such thing as Palestinian blood.

There is nothing unique about so called Palestinians as there is no such thing in history before 1967 and the co-opting of a term of a term to obfuscate displaced families of Arabs originally and largely from Syria and Jordan.

There can be no Palestine state as there is no such thing as a Palestinian.

You can gauge Abbas's success in negotiating with Israel by noting that he has failed to provide his people with even the most basic trappings of statehood, such as defined borders, an effective governing body, an independent financial system, and a fully functional healthcare apparatus.

You can call them Palestinians but they are still Muslims and shoud be doing what Allah and Muhammad want done and no bringing of Kafir ideas into he Muslim community.

Since the Jews show no signs of converting to Islam, and do fight against Islam, they should be killed and not accommodated.

Any Muslim who accommodates or helps out non- Muslims is a traitor to Islam and will be killed by the fundamentalist followers of Islam.

These peace talks are an unsolvable problem, unless the Jewish Kafirs can find a Muslim heretic or apostate or traitor to Islam to make a deal with them.
In which case those so-called Muslims will get assassinated. -Tom

The Arab Peace Plan

We want you dead. You want to live.

Why not compromise with us?

We'll let you live, but you'll wish you were dead.

Well, either that, or Israel should blow-to-Hell, any group or nation that attacks them....with extreme prejudice. Then they should annex that captured land and populate it.

Actually, "Palestine" is a region, like..."the Midwest".

Israel, Jordan, Lebannon, part of Syria

"The Promised Land" is even larger than that.

The Book of Numbers, ch. 34:

as bounded on the south by the desert tract called Sina, between the Dead Sea and the city of Kadesh-barnea, [which is located with the Arabah to the east] and continues to the west, as far as the river of Egypt, that discharges into the open sea near the city of Rhinocolara; as bounded on the west by the sea along the coasts of Palestine, Phoenicia, Syria, and Cilicia; as bounded on the north by the circle formed by the Taurus Mountains and Zephyrium and extending to Hamath, called Epiphany; Syria; as bounded on the east by the city of Antioch Hippos and Lake Kinneret, now called Tiberias, and then the Jordan River which discharges into the salt sea, now called the Dead Sea.

the Moslems already have about 3/4 of mandatory “palestine” and are still occupying a chuck of the west side of the river, too

they have more than their share
and yet they want to kill all the Jews and Christians

they can (and will, as certain as humans can be) GTH!

So we have the deal of the century. The same deal that Arafat turned down. Happens under Trump’s watch and Kushner plays a big role.

Then the new Palestian country gets taken over by ISIS as the Abbas Govt doesn’t look too strong with warning tribal groups

More things that change, more things stay the same

You may be correct. I think Bibi is NOT nearly that dumb to enter into any “deals” with Abbas or his murder gang...especially any that give away any more of Israel’s tiny land.

I really really think Bibi is not that dumb.

also Trump, for that matter.

we will see.....

I’m finally reading it. About 1/2 through so far. It is actually a pretty fascinating book. It really explains a lot of what we are seeing. Sort of gives you a new “insight.”

I say you got that right.

I gave up on the dumb naive Israeli Jews many years ago because they operate like they are going to talk their way into a peaceful solution with Muslims. - Tom

The Arabs need to take what deal they can get. There was a war, they lost, time to get over it, partition of Jerusalem and “right of return” and junk like that is NOT on the table and never will be.
