A Democratic lawmaker from California referred to Middle America as "Podunk, USA," during a committee meeting last week, several sources inside the meeting told the Washington Free Beacon.
Remarks by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D., Calif.) during a closed-door Energy and Commerce Committee meeting with Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai raised eyebrows from those present.

To the people who live in Podunk, it is not necessarily a derogatory term. Keith Anderson even wrote a nice song about the place.
In this context it does show ignorance about who lives in “Podunk” or “the boonies”, but in a way it’s good that these elites misunderestimate us.

Unfortunately I don’t consider anyone in congress to be either a gentleman or a lady, I refer to them as congress person and try not to hurl obscenities at the same time. As far as I am concerned we could fix CONgress overnight with 20 feet of Rope.
I give her credit for being honest, all of them think that, but say otherwise. Some days I would welcome a complete collapse, so that these liberal idiots starve to death, since they have no marketable skills.
