Three Republicans joined Senate Democrats on Wednesday to reject an effort to overturn an Obama administration rule limiting methane emissions from oil and natural gas drilling.
Only 49 senators voted to move forward with debate on legislation to undo the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rule, short of the 51 votes needed.
Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Susan Collins (Maine) and John McCain (Ariz.) joined all 48 members of the Democratic caucus in rejecting the resolution under the Congressional Review Act (CRA).

SC has to pick ONE conservative early, like right now. If you have more then one the GOP votes will split and the rats will cross over and put Linda back again. Unless you can close the primary we will be stuck with Graham because the rats know he is a mole. Same thing will happen in AZ with that worthless fool Flake.
Collins is competing with that Washington hag for dumbest “woman” in the senate. In a country of over 300 million, how do we come up with such profound mediocrities? There is something fundamentally wrong with the system.
Collins is an anomaly for the State of Maine..., she will be retained in office until she dies and will be succeeded by a Democrat!
Heh! How will they know the difference?
I live in Maine.
Collins was re-elected in 2014 (I wrote in the name of someone else). She is up in 2020.
Senator Angus King, so-called “Independent,” is up in 2018, and our current conservative governor, Paul LePage, who is term-limited, is expected to challenge him.
There are rumors here in Maine that Susan Collins wants to run for governor next year. My sister says that Collins only wants to do this so that she, Collins, can eventually run for president. God forbid.
Some Republicans in the know here in Maine have told me that Collins is through in the state. The dems don’t trust her and the Republicans are fed up with her as well.
I can’t stand her, myself.
So, if one of these three asses had voted yes, then the tie would have been broken by Vice President Pence.
What took so long? She is stealth Democratic.
John McCain is a living, breathing SOB..!! As far as America goes, there isn’t one damned thing anyone can say that’s good about John McCain......
Doesn't work for you? Me neither. I'd rather have a conservative statesman in his stead.
Palmettos are so deceitful that they demand their “D” senator wear an “R” tag.
A lot of it is just plain Palmetto ignorance but Grand Canyon deceit.
The usual suspects.
Let’s say that “Bill,” a name I just made up, challenges linda in the primary. The RATS cross over and vote for linda, she wins the primary and runs in the general. Doesn’t make any difference who the RAT in the general is, linda will win in the general. This scenario has happened several times.
SC needs closed primaries NOW. Until we have closed primaries the primary election will be potentially unfair if the RATS cross over.
McCain and Graham always playing for the other team.
McShamey and two other fools acting like the traitors they are
Might I suggest that methane emissions are 1. usable if you can contain them, and 2. bad to release unchecked into the atmosphere, either at the dinner table or while extracting oil and gas? So why not contain the methane as it emits, and, once packaged, sell it. Or, you can continue to maintain that any attempt to control oil-rig-and-natural-gas-produced methane farts is unpatriotic. Don’t hold with RINOs, but neither do I like methane.
