As hardly a surprise, this post originates from the British press. Got to wonder what the chances are that this full letter shows up in any news outlet readily available domestically.

Let’s think about it. If Trump fires Comey on January 21 it is a scandal. “Trump thinks this is the APPRENTICE.” If Jeff Sessions recommends this he is covering up his activity with the Russians. It could only ever be Rosenstein who could execute this process and advise Trump.

Comey is a grandstanding attention whore AND was growing more emboldened and out of control every day. He was appointed by Obama and proves once again how incompetent he truly was.

What's amazing to me is that the substance of that letter was crystal clear to many, on the day the Comey delivered his "clear Hillary" presser last year. Yet, despite the obvious usurping of the prosecutor's role in order to protect Hillary, the DEMs or serve some master other than "the law," the public commentary did not draw attention to that. Rather, it portrayed Comey's action as "maybe a little unusual, but justified."

I predict that simply as a function of attempting to save face, the press will continue to ignore the simple fact that Comey usurped the role of prosecutor; and by agreement, nobody in the prosecutor's office voiced an objection.

Rosenstein's letter will be buried under an avalanche of meaningless speculation and illogical criticism (for example, "timing" or "to stifle the Russia investigation").

Rosenstein's letter is right on the money. I wasn't the usurping alone that got Comey. It was that, in combination with not admitting what he did was wrong. In other words, he is not being fired just for the mistake of "No Reasonable Prosecutor" clearing - he is being fired for not admitting his usurpation of the prosecutor's role was a mistake.

I take it Krauhammer holds that the FBI should be both investigator and prosecutor.
