David Garrow, the award-winning biographer of Martin Luther King, has written a biography of Barack Obama. It’s called Rising Star.
Carlos Lozada, a liberal who reviews books for the Washington Post, considers Garrow’s biography of Obama here. According to Lozada:
Garrow. . .concludes his massive new work with a damning verdict on Obama’s determination: “While the crucible of self-creation had produced an ironclad will, the vessel was hollow at its core.”
Based on Lozada’s review, it appears that Garrow supports this conclusion in part by examining Obama’s relationship with his long-time girlfriend, Sheila Miyoshi Jager. The two nearly married, but ultimately, according to Jager:
The marriage discussions [were clouded by Obama’s] torment over this central issue of life. . .race and identity. [The] resolution of his black identity was directly linked to his decision to pursue a political career.
In this telling, Obama worried that marrying a non-black would preclude a successful career in Chicago politics. A source close to Obama and Jager recalled Obama saying “if I’m going out with a white women, I have no standing here.”

The older daughter got her wiry build from her father, but she looks very much like her mother in photos of Michelle throughout her life. Also, the older one resembles her maternal grandmother.
The Obama marriage obviously is a political one, but this contention the kids aren't their biokids is very far-fetched.
Except that there seem to be no birth records for either “daughter”. If anyone has located them, we’re all waiting to see them.

Not a challenge, just a sincere question: is it possible that the daughters’ birth records have been sealed because salient data about Barack is on it, such as HIS birth place? My point is that the older daughter looks so much like Michelle that the chances are greater there’s something about Barack that would be revealed on his daughters’ birth certificates than that — what? the girls have never existed? Even if they weren’t born to Barack and Michelle, they would have to have been adopted by them. So, where are those adoption records? If those records could be hidden, couldn’t birth records be hidden? I understand the argument that Obama wasn’t born in the US, but I don’t get at all the the-daughters-aren’t-theirs...wouldn’t they have to have belonged to somebody originally?!
You may be right, and it’s not a biggie with me, but the story goes that Rev. Wright’s outfit had a scheme “on the Dow Low” whereby they arranged marriages for queer men, cobbled up families, etc. for them so they could enter politics or business and look respectable. Nowadays, all that finnagling might not be necessary.
I’m expecting some liberals to have trouble with this.
Take out the names, and at the core, you have this. A guy who claims to love you, but then decides to retract a marriage proposal because his career is more important than you, and you’re the wrong color.
