French voters are choosing their next president after an unpredictable campaign that has divided the country.
The second round contest pits centrist Emmanuel Macron, a 39-year-old former investment banker, against the far-right nationalist Marine Le Pen, 48.
The latest figures show voter turnout is sharply down on the past two presidential elections.

Stupid French
Was there reporting on the emails in Germany? Not much here, really and I haven’t seen much on the internet except superficial reporting.
It will be interesting to learn more now that France has chosen.
Not in Germany. What little I heard is that the leak was a fraud from 4Chan but I really don’t know.
It’s actually not fine that someone thinks it was ok.
It’s disturbing.
I’m with you.
Who did Brigitte Bardot endorse?
Perhaps the closest American equivalent was President Grover Cleveland’s marriage to Frances Folsom who for all intents and purposes was his God Daughter. [Upon the death of her father, Grover Cleveland became her legal ward]. Grover was 28 years older than Frances. He had bought her first baby carriage.
When little Frances was eight years old she was sitting on “Uncle Grover’s” lap one day entertaining him with childish prattle of what she should do when she grew up into “a big lady.” It was about the time of Ulysses and Nelly Grant’s marriage in the White House, which had formed a topic of family talk.
“I’m going to have a nice white satin dress and get married in the White House, too,” she replied.
“But I thought you were going to marry me, and I should wait for you,” laughingly returned Mr. Cleveland.
“Of course it will be for you, for you will grow up to be president then,” said Frances.
When Cleveland was elected Frances and her mother were preparing to go to Europe, and on calling to say good-bye, Mr. Cleveland claimed from Miss Folsom the fulfillment, on her return, of the promise made when she was a child.
They married in the White House. Frances was 21 years old. The Clevelands were married for 22 years, until his death in 1908.
Maybe he stands somewhere between A-Fascists and Islamists. That’s centered to a leftist.
Thanks.
Nope. They say “centrist Marcon” and “far right Le Pen.”
You must only visit conservative websites.
Here’s one of 1,000 examples.
Did a google search and 602,000 hits for “centrist Marcon.”
Is “centrist” a political party?
This is the Overton Window trick played by the left.
They define the boundaries - within their leftist ideology - of what is the center.
If you’re outside it, you’re “far right” or “extreme.”
That’s why EVERY story uses centrist and far right.
It was about spelling. You had posted ‘Marcon.’ His name is ‘Macron.’
