Health Reform: While everyone is busy picking apart the flaws of the Republican ObamaCare replacement bill, one inconvenient truth is being overlooked: ObamaCare itself has been a colossal disaster.
Remember how ObamaCare was sold to the public: If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. It will lower premiums by $2,500, increase choice and competition, make health care affordable, create jobs, cut the deficit.
None of those promises came true. In 2013, millions discovered that the "keep your plan" promise was a lie PolitiFact gave it the "Lie of the Year" award when they started getting cancellation notices from their insurers. The Obama administration scrambled to minimize the political fallout by letting some keep those plans.
While Obama repeatedly promised a premium cut thanks to improved efficiency in the health care system, the opposite occurred. Workplace premiums for family plans jumped 9.4% the year after ObamaCare became law, and rose $4,767 from 2009 to 2006. ObamaCare premiums are going up at double-digit rates.

Seems to me that you only see cult behavior because you have already decided that it is a cult on some level.
And blaming the President for this not very good bill instead of Congress tends to reveal a certain bias in other ways.
Of course that’s the solution.
Tell me when you think you can get it through Congress.
I suspect you’ll be waiting a while.
Pres. Trump WILL be blamed for this monstrosity.
The Pres. RAN and the People voted for him to repeal
ObamaCARE, but it went the way of the border wall funding
immediately and the move of the Embassy to Jerusalem.
All talk, it appears.
Pres. Trump speaks up for HIS and his family’s reputation,
but about the People who voted for him, less and less.
I don't know about that.
I needed a CT-scan recently, and received a call from my insurance company. They asked if I'd be willing to drive 30 minutes to another facility since the cost was about 1/3 as high.
I said "hell-yeah".
You’re resigned to single payer, then? You’ve given up on a free market solution?
I’m not blaming President Trump for this bill. He didn’t write it — it originated in Congress.
But Trump has the bully pulpit. He can drive the conversation, push the narrative that free market is better than government managed health care insurance. And he doesn’t seem to be doing that.
Fakenews
If what actually happened was 'the plan' - - it appears intent was to offer the best and cheapest 'insurance' for ghetto dwellers and pay for it with forced high healthcare taxes on the working class.
Whether the motive was racial rage or an assumption 'if the middle class was damaged they would fight for universal health care' or whatever - is not known. Assigning Arab refugee in disproportionately high numbers around perceived 'racist' neighbors around Stone Mountain etc could be seen as a similar attack on working class whites.
Racial hatred of whites is a possible motive for the "ObamaCare' style of lies... little else explains the gulf between the promise and the reality.
And not even a whisper from the bully pulpit. Well I take that back.. a wealthy actor is lamenting from the bully pulpit that his son is alive and yours won’t be, not without government health insurance.

Republican Rep. Martha McSally of Arizona proposed a stand-alone bill to strike the exemption of Congress from state waiver provisions should the AHCA be enacted into law.
McSallys bill passed on May 4 by a 429-0 vote
>
It’s no longer the AHCA, is it not?
Why not a simpler bill: Congress shall be bound by any/all laws/rules/regulations as would any other Entity of these United States; no exemptions has hereby apply.
I think a system of private health care insurance can be preserved. The goal is to not end up with a completely government-run system like Canada.
And, how in the world do you think we get back to a free market system? We're not undoing Medicare and Medicaid.
Solutions have to be realistic.
Of course, that is the problem, but it isn’t Congress’ fault. It’s the voters. People who answered a poll from our congressman said they wanted pre-existing conditions covered, and it wasn’t even close. As long as people believe in the free lunch, nothing will change.
Here’s the actual wording as passed.
If the American Health Care Act is enacted, effective as if included in the enactment of such Act, section 2701(b)(5)(A)(ii) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300gg(b)(5)(A)(ii)), as added by subsection (a) of section 136 of the American Health Care Act (relating to permitting States to waive certain ACA requirements to encourage fair health insurance premiums), is amended by striking 1312(d)(3)(D),.
Passed the House of Representatives May 4, 2017
So the EXEMPT remain EXEMPT unless each state
acts to stop it.
NEVER TRUST THE GOP.
NEVER.
THEY ARE THE SCUM.
Excellent obamacare summary
Color me skeptical.

All the experts on this issue voicing their concerns on this matter can go read and report back to us instead of using the Media’s talking points.
Yes it is. Before RomneyCARE (a GOP Agenda)
97% of the workings in healthcare were docs and nurses.
Now it is < 7%. Good luck getting care without
the government, thanks to the RomneyAgenda
and his need to suck the teat of the State
for his Bain-rapes.
