FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai went on with Neil Cavuto on Thursday to discuss Stephen Colberts nasty, vulgar attacks on President Trump earlier this week.
Ajit Pai told Neil the FCC will investigate Colberts comments if they receive complaints.
He admitted that he had not yet seen the vulgar comments.
On Monday, Colbert, host of CBS The Late Show, used his opening monologue to take aim at Trump, implying the commander in chief had engaged in fellatio with Putin.

Trump is not a liberal nor is he a protected species. His complaints are therefore offensive and to be taken only as offense with no other import.
Oh, I know for sure there was one.
“But when a circus clown put on a blackface, he was fired.”
Wasn’t even blackface. It was a commercially available Obama mask.
FREEP THE FCC!!!!
Meh. This kind of outrage always backfires. I guarantee more people are now watching Colbert because they want to see what he says next. People getting all worked up about it plays perfectly into his hands.
It's like when I was a teen in the 1980s. I knew which heavy metal albums to listen to because they were the ones the busybodies complained about most.
2. Given the court mandated hour restrictions, complaints will probably be dismissed. See quotation below.
3. Pai, although nominated by Obama as a commissioner, filled the “republican” seat on the FCC. Trump upgraded him with a nomination to be the Chairman of the commission.

“Regarding the safe harbor period, Congress and the courts have instructed the Commission only to enforce the indecency standard between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., local time. - when children are more likely to be in the audience. As a consequence, the Commission does not take action on indecent material aired between 10 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. In this way, constitutionally-protected free speech rights of adults are balanced with the need to protect children from harmful content.”

They should be inserted in the article excerpt.

Then why are you there and getting paid and what is the purpose of having the FCC? Clown!
Oh. Honey. It’s INTENT now. Don’t cha know?
Colbert was just doing his job, no real harm,.... “intended”.
This is the fundamental issue of our time — IMO. The Left are actively trying to control free speech. They have been doing it through regulation (passively and actively) and now apparently violence is their MO.
And they do it by establishing double standards because no one calls them out on it. Good to see at least something is being said. How far will it go? I don’t know.
Don’t shoot the messenger. Ajit Pai as FCC Commissioner is doing his job to clean up the swamp of critters.
He’s passed down rulings that conservatives should appreciate, such as prevening the Googles and over-the-top players in the comms business from hurting the actual cable and telecom companies ho lay fiber and keep the internet’s lights on.
Sanity is being restored again to communications policy.
Hey Haji in your home country people get lynched for less!
Buffalo?
If I were Colbert I’d be more afraid of what Putin will do.
I put the following into an official complaint form—but if the rules on indecency don’t apply after 10 PM then it will probably be ignored.
Stephen Colbert’s comments on his CBS show about our President being in a homosexual relationship with President Putin went over the line of permissable obscenity for the public airways. The line crossed was a graphically obscene description of a homosexual act which is not consonant with the values of a huge segment of the American public.
This is not a political matter but a matter that involves obscenity on the publicly licensed network for all Americans. One of the standards for renewing that valuable license is that the network not produce shows with obscene talk or images. I know that you will not remove CBS’s license to use the public airways, but Colbert should be permanently removed from any publicly licensed station.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The President of The United States of America brought it to the attention of the world, and many others complained that what was said about the POTUS was over the line, out of line, and vulgar.
Comedians (even un funny ones) are given a lot of latitude but Corbert went much too far.
Imagine a Jay Leno saying something about Obama enjoying being another man’s holster.
