Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney said Tuesday that a wall is being built right now on the Mexican border.
MICK MULVANEY: The president delivered on his promises and got his priorities funded, and that's what the Democrats don't want you to know. They want you to think they won, but they don't want you to know the American people won here because the president simply out-negotiated them.
And we're going to build this. There are several hundreds of millions of dollars for us to replace cyclone fencing with 20-foot high steel wall. There's several hundreds of millions of dollars in the bill for us -- can we bring up the other photo please? Do we have the other photo?
There's several hundreds of millions of dollars for us to build levee walls along the southern border. And as many of you know who follow this issue, some of the most vulnerable areas that we have are places along rivers where we desperately need levees in order to provide the protection of the southern border that we -- that we need, OK?
We are building this now. There is money in this deal to build several hundreds of millions of dollars of this to replace this. ...
This is what DHS wanted. It's also half of the cost, so we can build twice as much of it. This is a huge win for border security.

Continue Obama-era improvements to no more than 40 miles of fencing and levy barriers
Post a video where Trump said that.
“this wasnt Trumps budget and the wall being built didnt come from his budget.”
You seem confused. Obviously didn’t watch the press briefing.
Nobody claimed that the wall in the picture came from Trump’s budget. The Trump budget hasn’t been approved yet. Such claim would have been idiotic.
The point is that the billions in the budget allocated for “maintenance” will be used to upgrade the existing walls and fences.
Come back to earth.
Total border length: 1,989 miles
Total length of the existing border barriers: 580 miles
The spending bill allocates billions for the “maintenance” of the existing barriers. Mulvaney said that maintenace = upgrade.
This is just a 5 month spending bill. Trump didn’t promise to build a 1,989 mile wall before September.
It’s your problem if you don’t like holding Trump accountable for a core promise to have Mexico pay for the wall that he made a cornerstone of his campaign and repeated often.
Find a video that explains the concept of sarcasm.
I’m sure Trump and company will fight real hard in the future to keep this campaign promise. Just not right now.
You're just looking to be miserable. You can't roll out of bed without being miserable.
By your standards, Reagan was a failure.
#NeverHappyEver
Again, it’s your problem dork. He ALWAYS said that Mexico was paying for the wall EVERY TIME he talked about the wall and he has provided no explanation of why that’s not happening. He should be questioned about it. If you don’t like it, take a hike. Couldn’t care less.
And, if you want to keep whining about, go the the Daily Kos or Huffington Post websites and stop bothering the rest of us with mindless bellyaching.
You’re the one complaining about my original comment.
You’re a waste of time. Go away.
The see through part is deceiving. Ask the troops who ran into simple barbed wire in World War 1. If we set up a simple, triple standard concertina fence on the border—that thing can chew up tank treads, much less a pickup truck for drug runners or human traffickers. We could get the Corps of Engineers to set that up on the cheap, and then we can always reinforce it later. But we’d at least have SOMETHING.
But alas, I’m not in charge :(
I always viewed the “Mexico will pay for a wall” line as a negotiation tactic rather than a hard promise. What I mean by that is he successfully shifted the internal Republican debate from “should we build a wall” to “should Mexico pay for the wall”, and building the wall is just a given.
Why build a wall? A minefield works better.
I always viewed the Mexico will pay for a wall line as a
negotiation tactic rather than a hard promise.

Payment can also be in various forms other than hard cash.
I’ve never viewed it as cash/money payment per se.
Amen!
perhaps a shark with laser beams in a moat of pork rinds? lol awww no
“Also, the wall in those pictures looks like something people could get over.”
Perhaps Juan could, but could Juanita and the 17 taco crunchers?
Mexico has already made a big down payment on it it. Now Trump just has to keep shaking the tree we call Congress.
If we can’t see thou the wall on the other side we can’t alert border patrol or the army to incoming threats such as tunnels and tanks.
“Again all of that is wonderful and give Trump credit for fulfilling his promise to build the wall.
But stick to the point. Trump is accountable for his promise for Mexico to pay with imposed tariffs, which I said all last year was impossible. U.S tariffs imposed on Mexico is NOT how this wall is being paid for.”
Personalty i think a tariff on imported Mexican Goods is a great way to pay for the wall it helps rebuild American industry at the same time. This is something we desperately need if we are to stand a chance against rise indistrial powers like china in the 21st century.
An industrial advantage is a military advantage as it means more misses, more drones, larger robot army that can project power in the modern army.
But if Mexico wants to caught up the money directly we can continue to allow them to enrich themselves on american industrial jobs
