The only thing "controversial" about David Clarke is he makes the left wet their pants.
But the position he's being considered for is below him. He needs an enforcement position. Head of ICE would be good. Better yet, get rid of Comey and put Clarke in at FBI.

Sheriff Clarke will do a good job wherever he ultimately lands because he’s that kind of man. My question is how much longer is America going to segregate native Americans by keeping them as victimized wards of the state? Close the reservations, recognize them as ordinary citizens and move on. This current system that is hundreds of years old demeans, stigmatizes and leads to second class citizenship. No more victimization excuses.
