The only thing "controversial" about David Clarke is he makes the left wet their pants.
But the position he's being considered for is below him. He needs an enforcement position. Head of ICE would be good. Better yet, get rid of Comey and put Clarke in at FBI.

Are there several David Clarkes? The one I know; the Sheriff from Wisconsin, neither is feiry tempered, nor does he engage in overthetop rhetoric. In fact, his remarks are always measured, thoughtful and spoken in low decibels. I wish him the FBI gig.
