WASHINGTON (AP) Congress is doing the bare minimum to keep the country running, readying a short-term spending bill to keep the lights on in government past Saturday, when President Donald Trump will mark his 100th day in office.
The short-term legislation will carry through next week, giving lawmakers more time to complete negotiations on a $1 trillion government-wide spending bill for the remainder of the 2017 budget year. The government is currently operating under spending legislation that expires Friday at midnight, so action is required before then.
In addition to the failure to come up with a spending deal that could pass ahead of Trumps 100-day mark, the House GOP looked unlikely to give Trump a victory on health care before then. A revised health care bill has won the support of the hard-right House Freedom Caucus, holdouts on an earlier version that collapsed last month, but GOP leaders were struggling to round up votes from moderate-leaning Republicans.

“Are you advocating for the Executive to take over the Legislature? “
Why not? The “Legislature” these days doesn’t seem
to be able to do its job. The Democrats did not seem to mind
when their Executive started legislating with his
executive orders the previous eight years. Maybe Trump should
do the same.
>
They seem to have no issue w/ the Judiciary over-reaching a/o creating ‘law’ from the bench.
They consistently abdicate roles and powers to the Executive.
They have no problems abdicating their authority to Dept/Agencies/etc. which create rules/regs w/ the power of law (but were never voted into office by We the People).
They feign ignorance and surprise on said agencies/etc. having a life of their own (IOW: Their lack of Congressional over-sight...more like rubber stand and look the other way). Yet, never is one fired, indited nor jailed. Neither is the ‘rogue’ unit admonished or abolished.

I wonder if President Trump reads Everything he Signs?? Maybe he should VETO Everything Congress sends him unless it is read aloud, without pause, by it’s sponsor in to the Official Record on the floor of BOTH Houses.

ARTICLE V is our only solution - we have spent well over a decade listening to many in this current crowd tell us lies over and over and over. They get back there to the edges of the Potomac, inhale the corrosive atmosphere, and completely ignore "WE THE PEOPLE" until it is election time again.

The swamp draining of Congress is up to us.
How do you propose doing that ?

Cantorize the weasels like we did to Eric Cantor in June of 2014.
Primary them out of office.

We showed you how it is done in June of 2014 when we kicked out the sitting Majority Leader Eric Cantor in a primary.
Eric Cantor was replaced by another Republican, Dave Brat, in VA-7. Eric Cantor won the district by 17 points in 2012 and Dave Brat won it by 16 points in 2016. Do you understand the implication ?

That did not solve the problem. Perhaps your next idea is to make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House again.

Yes, the implication is a weasel was replaced by a good guy.

So now we want Executive supremacy b/c our guy is in charge? You people need help.

One district getting rid of a weasel does not solve the problem, it will take hundreds of districts doing the same thing to solve the problem.
Eric Cantor was the same type of weasel as Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP House leadership, they all have to go for their to be any improvement.

Yes, the implication is a weasel was replaced by a good guy and made no difference whatsoever.

Do you understand that if we had not removed Cantor in that primary that the very next day they had planned to pass Rubio’s amnesty bill in the House?

Huge difference, Rubio’s amnesty was stopped cold.

Yes, I understand. Fast forward to 2016. The only reason that legislation, or something worse, is not being voted on is because we had a miracle in November, President Donald Trump and Vice President Michael Pence.
The logical move is to support President Trump, and those in Congress who support President Trump. That means delivering "wins" on health care and taxes. That means "compromise" to put together a winning majority. Waiting until 2018 to primary conservative and moderate Republicans who are not supporting President Trump is not a good strategy to keeping the House and gaining seats in the Senate. Getting 70-80% of the objective in a "compromise" is better than getting nothing and being discredited in the eyes of the voters. The election was close and Democrats can rebound; the MSM is going to back them for years to come. Republicans need to govern.

The Cantorizing should have happened in 2014 and 2016 and things would be working differently. It is the liberal Republicans that need to be booted, not the conservatives.

I don't think there are liberal Republican Congressmen left; more like moderates, and they are moderates because their districts are moderate. Study the congressional districts and one finds most are not competitive. Todd Akin was the Representative of Missouri's 3rd CD. He was a conservative who was supposed to defeat Claire McCaskill, but he lost.
Tired of conservatives losing in general elections ... if one doesn't win, one doesn't get 70-80% of the objective, one gets nothing and the other side makes the deals.

Seems you missed the point of my post: We ALREADY have it.
Want it? NO. Support it? NO.
My points were/are still valid.
